quiet, cozy retreat
We were looking for a quiet place central to the many places we wanted to visit during our stay. This place met and exceeded our wishes. It was very clean. The rooms were spacious enough for our small family. The bedrooms were comfortable enough for two and there was room to spread out if we needed to. We would not hesitate staying here again in the future.

Birthday weekend
The property is located conveniently to the town but in a quaint setting. I wanted to go camping but my girlfriend doesn't like to. This property gave rhe best of both worlds. I was able to have my camp fire and she was able to have the comfort of home. I will definitely be booking this property for my spring trip. Can not wait.

Perfect Location
Lori's home was so cozy and she made us feel right at home with her welcome sign and gift bag. Even working nights, she promptly responded to my texted questions as soon as she had the opportunity. The house is out in the woods and quiet and we loved watching the birds at the feeder out the kitchen window. It was a short drive to I-75, easy to get across the bridge for our trip to the Soo, and just 10-12 mins. drive to Mackinaw City, so very convenient for our day trip to the island and our Labor Day Bridge walk. Absolutely loved the place and will definitely look to see if it's available next time I come up!

A Peaceful Stay by Carp Lake
One of our best experiences with VRBO. The place was clean and perfect for our week stay. It even came with a personalized gift basket! So much to do within an hour’s drive and then we return to this abode for a peaceful night’s rest. Everything we need and more was all there. Highly recommended.

Don’t hesitate to stay here
This place is a gem. It was super clean and comfortable. We have been coming to the Mackinaw area for many years and this is the nicest place we’ve ever stayed. We love the decor, it was just fun discovering all the whimsical touches. It had everything we needed, and then some. We appreciated the little extra touches like the welcome gift, and the sign on the chalkboard with our names welcoming us. You can tell there is a lot of care put into this place. We will definitely be back.

Lovely cabin!
After a long and exhausting journey, my 2 children and I were quite relieved to arrive to such a clean and comfortable home. Access was a breeze and I appreciated that so much as we arrived very late into the evening. We found most everything we would need for or stay was provided. There is plenty of room to unpack your things in clean empty closets and space for your pantry items in cupboards. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table in the mornings and watching the birds and other wildlife visiting the bird feeder. The kids enjoyed exploring and running around in the big yard where they searched for exotic tiny creatures. They looked forward to eating fresh raspberries from the vine daily. I appreciate that the area is a bit revitalized these days with a quaint general store, well appointed marine store, restaurant and iconic bar Clyde’s; all open for business and warmly welcoming visitors. Our host Lori was also very welcoming and we communicated easily. She checked in to see if we needed anything about once a week (we stayed for 4 wonderful weeks) which attests to her genuine concern that her guests are happy and content. We absolutely plan on staying here again. Thank you for providing a lovely home away from home for my family, Lori! Until next time… cheers.

They place was away from the crowds but close enough to get to the places we wanted to go.. I loved watching all the birds and critters out my window. Didn't make a fire outside to sit but could have. I could go back there the next time I am in the area.

Just right!
This was the perfect place to spend a few days “up north” to close out the summer. The house had everything we needed to relax and was close to everything we wanted to do. We enjoyed picking fresh raspberries to eat each morning and watching the squirrels and birds out of the dining room window. We spent time kayaking on nearby Carp Lake —which was much bigger than we expected! The house is nestled back in a quiet, little area that gave us privacy and the peace we were looking for.
