If you're looking for a clean, classic, cozy cabin, this is it. Feels like you're staying at a friend's cabin that's been in the family for years.
It looks better in person than the photos depict - always a nice surprise. Beds were very comfortable (just watch your head on the A-frame beams in the master - ouch!). Liked the different options for sleeping arrangements. Table was large, there was ample seating in the living area for everyone to relax, and the open floorplan made it easy to converse. Bathrooms were clean, yet notably dated, and a little sparse on the paper products. Nice appliances in the kitchen and a huge washer & dryer made cooking and doing laundry a breeze each day. Our kids laughed every time the washer or dryer "sang" its happy completion tune. Cookware was a bit tired and several items need to be replaced, however there were many options to choose from in the well-stocked kitchen.
When we arrived, there was a problem with the door and we couldn't get in - a couple of calls with the nice owners and we had secured alternative access.
Location was great - central to drive to all locations on the north side of the lake. We rafted the Truckee in Tahoe City, ate ice cream at Log Cabin and mini golfed in King's Beach, and spent a couple full days at Sand Harbor in Incline. We didn't walk from the cabin to the lake as it was too far to go with our stuff and also try to cross the busy street. Closest beach is at Gar Woods restaurant and is all rocks, no sand. Boats are anchored around the pier. Restaurant has good food, drinks, atmosphere, and views, with typical high Tahoe prices, of course. A mini golf is also located nearby. Safeway is just a short drive away.
Be sure to bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas! We found one chair outside but ended up having to buy "cheap" $35 chairs at Safeway for the remainder of us.
Enjoy beautiful Lake Tahoe!
