Our family had a great time staying at your property. The view overlooking the valley and the mountains are spectacular. Very peaceful and relaxing surroundings. We enjoyed the sunset view in the evening and stars gazing at night. We had everything we need in the house. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your property and made beautiful memories for our family gathering.
Beautiful Main House, awesome views, but bugs in cottages
Everything about the main house was amazing. Spacious and comfortable. Well decorated and had everything you needed.
Where the property fell short was the cottages. They were not as updated or well ventilated as the main house. It was a hot weekend and a lot of sleeping spaces were uncomfortable because of the heat and lack of airflow. There was also a HUGE bug problem in the cottages - spiders, mosquitos, crickets, and grasshoppers. Most of the people who had to sleep in that cottage had to move to different spaces. It was not inhabitable.
We were delighted as the property and views were more beautiful than be expected. The house is secluded and there are two gates to get to the main house and cottages. This gave us great privacy and comfort in allowing the children to play and roam outside. The views were spectacular and the children loved the swings and play sets! Will rent this home again for sure!!
This place is quite spectacular. And at one point it was probably super-duper spectacular. The main room and kitchen are great. The view from the top of the hilltop beyond compare. The drive to the top thrilling. The one thing is that all of the accoutrements are on the verge of not being great. The dishes are mismatched. The towels a bit scratchy. The outside furniture a bit tired. The ice-maker didn't work. It's a beautiful, special place - it just needs to be updated to be in the top sphere.

An I deal Retreat
We hosted a group of 15 of our company teammates at Weathertop. Every few hours someone would say, “What a lovely place!” or “It so beautiful here!” Weathertop has very amenity for every need. We were delighted with the property hosts as well. They were quick to respond to any request we made. We highly recommend Weathertop!
Cottages have most of the bedrooms whereas Main house has 3 bedrooms. Cottages were not as nice as main house and has no central heat - portable heaters provided, no microwave in the kitchenettes. Property is very pretty and vast. Floor plans would be very helpful to understand all the bedroom layout.
The view from on top of this hill was absolutely priceless! Sunny, clear skies greeted my family and I on this trip that made a perfect place to escape to in July! This property was artfully decorated and made cozy that it made it easy for my family and I to feel at home to be relaxed yet entertained on our stay here! Logan, I assume is the property manager, reached out with great enthusiasm to ensure a quality stay and I was so very grateful to have that peace that if any worries were to come to mind during my stay, they would help me right away. I left a personal belonging behind in a rush and saved the day by sending that out to me right away albeit with a fee. You definitely get what you pay for at this quietly luxurious spot that gave what me and my party of 13 other family guests needed for our successful trip to Carmel/Carmel Valley. Beautiful memories made here done with special thanks to Vrbo and the Lux Vaca rental property team.
The numbers of bedrooms are split between separate 2 houses about 150 feet apart. While the main house is decorated normal with 5 beds in 4 bedrooms . The other house of lots of bedroom and over 10 beds is so basic like a hospital dorm, with no heaters, no hot water and no curtain on windows and bad smell
Now the main room. A number of Things don’t work and broken. The kitchen fan doesn’t work. Not clean with small hairs here and there from prior tenants. The carpet is hard like rocks
My husband and I hosted our family and friends to celebrate our elopement, and this was the perfect house for a long weekend. Between visiting Carmel Valley, Big Sur, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and Monterey, this house was in an ideal location, anywhere from 15-40min drive from our destinations. The drive to the house was an adventure in itself! The house and side cottages were spacious and clean with plenty of room for folks to congregate or find solitude. Our favorite was walking to the hilltop for a 360° view of sunrise/sunset and the scenery. The kitchen was fully stocked and there was extra propane for the grill and heaters, a much-appreciated option! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely book this house again!

This property is amazing!! The property is extremely clean ( and I am very picky), linens top quality and very comfortable beds. The Kitchen is very well stocked and has everything you need. Updated and clean! We loved it! The view is breath taking with the sunrise over the mountains and the full moon shining down each night, we were amazed by the sights and sounds of this secluded, rustic but luxurious property. I highly recommend this house with the out lying cabins which were adorable and very clean. We were attending our sons wedding in Half Moon Bay, (originally scheduled in Carmel-by-the-sea, but Venues cancelled) and our extended family had plenty of privacy in the cabins. The barn is adorable and a bit down the drive from the main house but a wonderful spot for the groom and groomsmen to stay and have a bachelor night! I can't say enough about the staff at Luxvaca. Andrew, Manuel and Zorka were so friendly and helpful every time I called. (and I called a lot! :)) They always answered my questions and I knew they were making sure everything went smoothly for our visit. I was so glad I got a chance to speak with the CEO Sean and let him know what a wonderful staff he has and what a great job they did. I will remember this spot forever and would return. A perfect spot for a large family gathering! Love it so much!
Property was great for our getaway! The views were stunning, it was nice and secluded, and it was great having a fire pit and a pool table for entertainment. When we first booked the property the "barn" house was part of the rental but we were notified that there was a change in ownership and the barn was no longer part of the property. They added an RV and moved some beds around to make up for it and it turned out to be fine but we only had 10 people in our group - the arrangement would probably be more inconvenient for larger groups. And our only complaint is that we'd run out of hot water in the showers. I saw other reviews complain about this and asked if it had been fixed - they messaged me saying it was but we still had cold showers. I can see this being a big inconvenience for larger groups because we had to time our showers to be short and make sure people weren't taking them at the same time. But overall, we had a blast.

Beautiful Property
amazing views!! Alex at Luxe was so helpful with all my wedding preparations at the house.
I had myself and 18 of my friends stay here for 2 nights. The house is in a very secluded location high up on a hill. It is about a 5 minute drive up a hill once you get through the first gate. The main house is in good condition and very nice. The additional buildings are in good shape but not quite as nice as the main house. They get the job done though as they are more so meant for additional places to sleep. The main house has plenty of space to accommodate a large dinner or hang out spot.
Beautiful space and area, but consider the following
There were 18 adults who stayed at the ranch in February. It's a beautiful, removed space. The main house is comfortable with all the amenities. Those in the side cottages were less comfortable. The hot water was not working most times and when it was, it was only working for a single shower use, which made it difficult for everyone to wash up comfortably. The hot tub did not heat up above 84 degrees (it is inflatable and does not retain heat well), but maybe those visiting in warmer weather will have better luck. The property management also confirmed early check in (11:30am was the earliest check in and this comes with a fifty dollar fee), however the cleaning crew was onsite at the time of arrival and they had JUST started cleaning and did not finish until around 3:00pm. We were flexible and told them we'd just hang around outside until they were done. Would recommend anyone utilizing early check in and paying the extra fee to call in and confirm MULTIPLE times.
The space and property is very beautiful serene, and offers gorgeous nature walks right outside the front door. It is a bit removed and those not familiar with the area should be made aware that there are not a lot of transportation options (lyft/uber/taxi).
We had a good stay at the Weathertop ranch. The location was beautiful although further out from town and along a steep driveway with a drop off that made some of us very nervous. The house and guest cottages were nice. The biggest issue with the house was no hot water in 2 of the showers which with a large group made showering very difficult. Also a third shower did not drain properly so you stood in a pool of soapy/dirty water. Everything else was good and overall we did enjoy our stay.

Weathertop Ranch New Years Eve
After dealing with the front gate, no heat the first night in the master bedroom, due to a blown circuit, no fire wood the first night for the out door pit, and costing almost 8 times the everyday going price since it was new years eve, i would only expect a refund on some of the cost!, but you know that's not going to happen!!
the view was excellent, and we saw a abundance of wild life. Deer, squirrels, bobcats, owls and steers lol.... but the lower rooms were difficult to get to for the older family members, which would have been nice to know prior to setting up this home. there are only three rooms in the main home, which can accommodate basically two couples with two small beds in the third room. The out door bunk houses were difficult to get warm for the guests, but they made the best of it. As i mentioned the fire pit would have been nice to sit around the first night, but no wood to be found.
I also didn't appreciate getting email or text messages letting me know i can pay 50$ to get in earlier or stay later. Especially after paying what we did for the stay. I totally felt like it was a money grab!
It would have been nice to know that there were items in the pantry that we didn't need to bring, it was very well stocked from previous tenants.
overall we made the best of all the situations and enjoyed our stay. Would we go there again....NO

Spectacular Holiday Retreat
Incredible remote get away that can support a large family and very happy dogs. Hiking, cooking and cozy fires were the best! Terrain is tough for grandparents but main house is totally level with generous bathrooms. Best Christmas ever!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Not worth the price
This was a disappointing property due to the lack of quality throughout. All of the chairs, couches and beds need to be replaced because they are unusable. There is a serious lack of storage in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The outer building are converted stables and have not been updated appropriately for human use: one of them is splitting down the middle and will likely slide down the hill in the near future, there is no plumbed heating so portable heaters are provided, which is a fire waiting to happen, and the kitchen venting is not plumbed to the exterior as they should be. The pathways between the buildings are dangerous and quite hazardous at night as they are not lit. The facility is obviously old and needs to be updated. I would not recommend this facility. We only enjoyed it because this is our annual family gathering and we will have fun no matter where we end up!
We loved this ranch. The setting is outstanding. We could watch beautiful sunrises in the morning. We had 11 family members with us. The accommodations were great. The main house space was great for gathering together but it was nice for each family to have their own space.
The kitchen was well equipped for family dinner preparation. We highly recommend this lovely home.

No hot water
No hot water in the other rooms or heater - guests were cold and can't take shower. We don't have any woods for the fire pits ( indoor and outdoor)

Thoroughly enjoyed this place
I booked this place for 12 golfers spending 5 days in the Monterey area & it fit our needs perfectly. The main house was set up well as our home base & the 2 accompanying cottages plus the game barn, housed everyone offering space for all.
The property is beautiful with amazing & relaxing views of the hills to the ocean.
The private up hill driveway although is steep with several turns, is well worth it as you reach the peak & one enjoys the ranch property.
Booking was easy & the Luxe property management team was very helpful & professional.
I highly recommnd this for any group.
We rented this property as a place for our extended family to stay while in California for a wedding. The property is beautiful and has amazing views as it is situated at the top of a mountain. We loved the large kitchen and dining room where the whole family could gather for meals, and the patio sitting area was also a wonderful place for the whole group to gather to talk and relax. The separate bedrooms and bathrooms in the bunkhouse were wonderful in terms of allowing people their own space when they wanted to get away for a bit. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we could possibly need for our stay. We hated to leave and hope to be back some day.
