This unique adobe Hacienda is set on a quiet hillside with spectacular views of Carmel Valley and located just 15 minutes away from downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. Built in 1938, it is one of the few original Spanish style adobe homes in the area. This special property has been lovingly decorated with antiques and unusual artworks from all over Latin America, reflecting the life and work of its world-renown designer-owner. Two of the queen bedroom suites have full baths with their own fireplaces. There is another fireplace in the spacious living room and also in the formal dining room. The recently remodeled gourmet/chef kitchen features Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances with green granite counters and fabulous copper and All-Clad cookware. Relax and enjoy the landscaped gardens and patios in complete privacy and sunshine. The entire five acres are completely fenced. Deer, owl, wild turkey, quail, rabbit, squirrel, and red-tail hawk abound in the area.

This gorgeous Hacienda is the perfect setting for reconnecting with families, small working groups and seminars or small weddings for under 20 people.

Great location and views
The place was awesome and our family had a great time. In the listing it says “hot tub” but there isn’t one on premise it’s at a club at the bottom of the mountain. Not very convenient. The location was close to everything we wanted to do.

Belated Thanksgiving in Carmel Valley
We had 6 family members and a dog. Pat's house is large, comfortable and a joy to experience. Plenty of outdoor patio space to enjoy too. Views are amazing and the house is filled with sunshine most of the day. Carmel Valley is a wonderful place to stay because there is such a variety of things to do: hike, beach walk, shop, museums, aquariums and more. Great food for those that like to go out and a chef-grade kitchen to cook in if that is your joy.

Cool place but…
The house is ver comfortable and has lots of space. The kitchen was amazing. Unfortunately there was an issue with the plumbing our second morning there ( in all 5 bathrooms) the issue was resolved by that evening, fortunately we were gone the majority of the day. Even with that we had a good time there and enjoyed our stay.

The Carmel Hacienda was fantastic for a week in Carmel. The location was absolutely perfect and the house was as described. The views from the back deck are worth the price alone. The host was great and any minor issues were addressed immediately.

Wonderful family gathering.
Beautiful home with beautiful view of Carmel Valley. Central to all amenities and wonderful location to use as a base for enjoying Carmel, Monterey, and Big Sur. Hosts are easy to work with and most accommodating. Can’t help, but enjoy yourself!

Pat is a hard working hostess who wants to make her guests feel at home and provide a great stay. Her home and property are lovely, she was very accommodating to us, and despite the weather we had (pouring rain our whole vacation) we had great time.

Not what we expected
House was not clean, there was no space for guests to unpack ( all closets and drawers were full of owners personal items), not enough clean towels, there was no communication before our trip to clearly notate the check in process such the code to the gate, layout of the house , etc. we found rats in the kitchen pantry. Not a pleasant experience at all. We’ve had kids and elderly people with us and it was hard to find a new place to move to so we had to put up with all the above for 4 days.

Spacious Hacienda
This authentic yet updated Hacienda is perfect for an extended family group. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which was much appreciated by our large multi generational family. There are a lot of roomy spaces indoor and out for gathering. The large terrace with its beautiful view was perfect for al fresco meals or just watching the sunset. A lovely time was had by all.

Homey Gem!
This house is really special, with all the charming touches of a real home. Expect authentic charm and character (in a good way), not a corporate hotel experience. Pat was very available and made sure we were comfortable for our entire stay. We had our 2 and 4 year old kids with us, and there was great space for them to run around outside and explore the property. We will definitely be returning to this special Carmel retreat.

Large older lived in house. My first experience with a VRBO property. Not what I expected.
First of all privacy would be on my checklist if I do a VRBO again. I am a hotel rewards member person and use to a lot of privacy and discretion. If you are over 60 then this might be your place. Our younger guest felt like it was a museum, with a caretaker and staff. I should have confimed that our group would be left alone with full access to the property and no parking restrictions. The beds were small for the room sizes. No where to put your luggage really up off the floors and limited closet space for hanging up or hang up clothes. A few minor issues and details with the TV operation and only one TV in the entire house. I will do my thorough homework next time but like I said I'm more of a hotel guy because I can get a better room or change rooms. Value wise in the day it would have been there, but not in this market.
