"It may not be a 5 star hotel but I would give Tennyson 5 stars for the way guests needs are catered for. Entry was simple and effective thru key safe. the room was clean comfortable and warm - I returned from a meal at the local Wetherspoons (brilliantly converted cinema covered in lights!) to find the heating had come on and the room was warm as toast. "Great that you check yourself in so there are no time restrictions. Clean. Quiet. Lots of lightning and sockets. Breakfast items are in your room ready for the morning. The kitchen is very nice, big and useful. Nice touches like shower caps. I definitely recommend. "

"Really enjoyed our stay thank you. Pleasant welcome from the staff and good facilities. Lovely clean guest house and room. In a great location for the town too. Minor downside is lack of parking (but there are side streets and car parks nearby - it just took us a little while to find one late on a Friday evening). "We always enjoy our stay at the Lawns when we come to Retford to visit family and friends. The rooms are much bigger than average and there is plenty of wardrobe space. Lovely big towels and a good supply of hot drinks and bottled water.Extremely good value."

"Very pleasant and comfortable overnight stay. We were attending a wedding nearby and it was an early start. Adjacent pub, The Plough served amazing food and very friendly service. Would definitely recommend."

"Had a lovely relaxing break with my partner and another couple. We stayed Friday-Sunday. Lodge was beautiful and clean. Hot tub was excellent and got cleaned whilst we were there. Excellent communication with the owner. Would definitely recommend a stay here. "
