My family and I truly enjoyed staying at this home on Captiva. The location was incredible! We were only steps away from the beach and we could walk to most places on the island.
We enjoyed our week at 57 Sandpiper. The house is spacious, beds are comfortable, and location is great with easy access to restaurants, the beautiful Captiva beach and pool, which was a good size for the community. Host (Ryan) was responsive to our requests. We would stay here again.
We live ve Captiva and usually stay out of town a bit (near Tween Waters). But, this rental was perfect for our grandson and friends with food, shops, etc. close by. Also nice for the adults… as short walk to the market and restaurants. Our host was very responsive to our needs.
We had a great vacation with our family at Captiva. The house was very clean, in a great location and part of private community. We had easy access to the beach and just a block away from restaurants and shopping. I would definitely recommend this property for your next vacation.
The community where the property is located is very nice.
The property itself is very good but needs updating, especially dining room and living room furniture. Beach access was outstanding and the location in regards to restaurants and community center are outstanding.
Enjoyed the house and being able to walk to several restaurants. Pool and beach were great, just sad the tennis court was torn up. Ryan is an excellent communicator.
A beautiful home in a perfect setting! The space was so nice for our family of seven people. The island is so beautiful and we were able to walk to restaurants, shopping, ice cream, and of course, the beach! I hope to visit this property again and again!
Lovely property with great access to the beach, pool and surrounding village attractions! Wonderful owners who communicated with us frequently and made our stay in the island on of the best we’ve had in seventeen years!! Thanks Ryan and Mercedes!
This house is in a great location on Captiva. It is a short walk to all the key features of the island, including the Mucky Duck, the Island Store, Jensen's Marina. The available pool is very nice, and we enjoyed it frequently during our 2 weeks with another couple. A boardwalk leads you to the beach where shelling and watching the Osprey's is an all day thing. The house has plenty of room including a screened porch. The neighborhood is quiet and is well maintained. We had a great time and would go back.
We really enjoyed our stay here (5 of us). This is a beautiful area and the rental included everything you need for pool, tennis courts, umbrellas/chairs and many other items for the private beach. House is very clean and well decorated. Ryan's communication was outstanding, and he promptly answered any questions I had prior to and after arrival. We will definitely be back. Thanks Ryan & Mercedes!
There was an issue with the electricity in the kitchen. We had to turn off the lights to use the microwave or it would blow the breaker. We didn't bother the management we just dealt with it. All in all it was very clean and well located.
The house and porch was infested with noseeums. They lied and said there was a dock available to use I had to rent a slip from tween waters and not get reimbursed. Bed had blood stains on the sheets.
We loved this home, location and, of course, Captiva. This was our third vacation to Captiva/Sanibel and it never fails to be better than the last.
The house was plenty big and comfortable for the 6 of us. The balcony off of the upstairs master bedroom was amazing. We sat up there at night and just enjoyed the stars and our nightcap. The community was friendly, especially the neighbors, Sue and Jim. It is close, with an easy walk to the beach. The pool is large and warm. The local store (we call it the little corner store) has everything you need at a reasonable price. Our host, Ryan, was incredible. His communication was continuous, quick responses, and great followup - plus a nice person to talk to. Overall we rate this place 5 stars plus, plus, plus. Thanks for a wonderful family vacation Ryan!
I decided to travel to Sanibel/Captiva Island this January and help support the recovery from Hurricane Ian. I came across this spot and reached out to the owner Ryan. He was very honest about the Island and the fact there are a lot of things closed and recovering. I booked this place and was very impressed how the owner reached out with his personal number.
Upon arrival loved location with beach access, pool, trnnis courts... At first was a bit worried about not much open but realized had the beach to ourselves and was amazing. Restaraunts bars opened as we were thre as well as golf course..
Any minor bumps or scrapes with property were dealt with right away by Ryan and the maitenance team
Best rental I have stayed and and will be back!
The house was nice and clean and our hosts were GREAT with communication. We are a large family of 7 and had enough space to be able to spread out without feeling jammed in. The neighborhood is absolutely charming and despite the hurricane damage in 2022, it’s in great shape. The walk to the beach is a little hike when a toddler is in tow but using the on-site beach wagon and caddy helped ease the grumbling. Our teens enjoyed using the on-site bikes to ride to the store for some shopping or coffee. All of the beach equipment is in good shape which isn’t always the case when going to a beach rental. The beds and sofas were all more comfortable than expected for a rental too! Thanks again for hosting!

Sunset Captiva 57
We spent the week at house 57. The pros first- the house was perfectly clean- very appreciated. The beach wagon, chairs and umbrellas were great to have. The beds were quite comfortable and all appliances worked perfectly. The cons - the furnishings were sparse, uncomfortable and very old. The porch furniture was very very old and not inviting at all. Sitting out on an otherwise fine porch was just too uncomfortable for very long, due to poor chairs. The lighting in the family and bedrooms were very inadequate as was the upstairs bath lighting. The house was ok, overall. But we still had a fine week.

Won't stay in this community if I can help it again. They are a bunch of nosey busy bodies. Have their noses up in the air and the Property Manager made our stay a pain in the but. We have been coming to the island for 11 years and this was the worst experience we have had in 11 years. We did something wrong everyday by their rules. Don't wear tennis shoes without white soles on the tennis court , don't hang your towels on the outside, put your beach stuff up and don't leave it out for anyone to see. The pool was 100 degrees and you didn't want to get in it. Need to let people that rent the property know that this is in a HOA so they will be prepared for all the rules they require.

Nice Stay
We stayed for a week at the beginning of August with our family of 5. Check in was easy, house was clean and in good shape. The location is very close to town which is great and we also walked across the street to fish off of the Sunset Captiva dock which you get access to as a renter in the community (go buy shrimp for bait next door at Jensen's - they were great).
The beach is very nice as is the pool in the development - a bit small and obviously too warm this time of year but certainly sufficient. Grills next to pool easy to use and in good shape.
Only mildly disappointing things were wifi and cable were spotty in the house during our stay and the walk from the house to the beach, with the requisite chairs, toys etc is a bit of a haul though not terrible. Bed in downstairs bedroom might need some work - slopes to the middle so one is prone to rolling into the middle overnight. I'd probably opt to stay in a unit closer to the beach and further from town but that also means more expensive so that is a personal choice. Town is great but very sleepy - every bar / restaurant closes by 10pm every night (can be argued that is a good thing).
Love Captiva Island itself and would think we would come back again soon.
Property was very spacious and comfortable. Kitchen had all of the cooking utensils we needed, bathrooms had plenty of towels and there were nice beach towels provided. Washer and drier were very nice and efficient. We brought our own beach toys, wagon and chairs but there were some of all of these provided too. My kids used one of the bikes (there were 2 but 1 had a low tire and we did not pump it up) to go back and forth to the beach path. The community pool was biggest hit with my grandson, clear and clean. Overall good location to both sides of the island and captiva businesses. Definitely would recommend.
This is our second time staying at this home and we absolutely love the convenience, comfort and cleanliness. The host is amazing to communicate with and whenever there is a small issue, they are very attentive to get back in touch with us. Looking forward to more time spent at our second home away from home.
Great Captiva Island house - perfect for our family of 5 -> loved the house and location. Plenty of room for all of us with 3 bedrooms + loft. Location is the best - 2 min walk to pool, 4 min to beach and walk to restaurants. And, the hosts were great. Thank you!
