Capitan Mountain Cabin is a Cosy-Quaint/Farmhouse style cabin. Mountain views of the Capitan Mountains and the Sacramento mountains.The property is on top of a small mountain-5 Acres. Views of the Sierra Blanca Ski Mountains too! Peaceful/Serene/Nature everywhere. Close to Ruidoso-the resort town. 30 minute drive. Alto/Rainmaker and Outlaw Country clubs are a 20 minute drive. Capitan is Home to Smokey the Bear! He was found here in the Capitan mountains abondoned after his mother was killed in the fire. The Smokey Bear Museum is here in town to tour. Also Smokey Bear Cafe is delicious-Down home cooking. Smokey's Grocery store is our hometown grocery store. 8 minutes drive from Capitan Mountain Cabin. Beautiful New Mexico Country. Deer- Elk-Horned Sheep-and maybe Wild horses are running through out the property. Gorgeous Clear skies-Fallng stars-you can see the Milky way and planets! We are a short drive to downtown Village if Capitan. 8 minutes. There is a Brewer gas station Bank Post office Village hall Laundromat Auto repair shop Police and fire station Family Dollar store Motel Clinic Small hardware store Everything you need up here in the mountains at 6500’ elevation. We love our little Village. We go to Ruidoso 1-2 times a week. 30 minute drive. Walmart- Albertsons Boutiques Wineries Breweries Bars Many Restaurants Horse back riding Swimming at Grindstone lake Gambling at the Casinos Horse racing at Ruidoso Downs Many fun things to do! the place was very clean, beautiful views and close to everything.
Jill and her husband were delightful and their property is gorgeous. Close to town and easy to get to. We loved our time there and will definitely re visit.
Beautiful area and cabin was excellent! Loved the extra personal touches Jill added. Thank you Jill for making our stay perfect. Would stay here again.

Quaint farmhouse, clean and quiet, with everything one needs available. Centrally located for history buffs - with Smokey Bear monument in Capitan, the town of Lincoln, which is one big museum, Fort Stanton, and Ruidoso close by.
I had an absolutely amazing stay at this cabin! The cabin was clean, cozy, and beautifully furnished. The location provided a peaceful escape from the city to help me unwind a bit. The host (Jill) was incredibly hospitable, making sure our stay was comfortable. I look forward to another stay here! Thanks Jill!
If you want the perfect private get away, 10/10 recommend staying here. Very quiet, peaceful, and a gorgeous view. Not to mention, the house feels like home away from home. It’s very welcoming, as well as the owners! Gorgeous little place. We enjoyed very much. Perfect distance from all of the fun!!
The cabin was absolutely charming, clean, and warm. I felt right at home. Everything was clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed including coffee in the morning. The porch was one of my favorite places to sit at night and the view of Capitan Gap Mountain. I can't wait to go back! So relaxing!
This was a very relaxing place to unwind. Small but very clean. Everything we needed was there. Fenced in area for our dog, nice porch with great views of the mountains. Quiet but close to town where there’s a well-stocked market, a couple of restaurants (Oso Grill has the best green Chile cheeseburgers and homemade ice cream). Short scenic drive to Ruidoso. Must visit Smoky Bear Historical Park and the historic town of Lincoln.
