"Davide is the BEST host, and 6 Stelle is a wonderful, spotless, gorgeous, lovely place to sleep, eat an excellent breakfast, and explore sweet Sulmona. "Our two-night stay in Sulmona could not have been better. This six-room hotel, run by two brothers, is modern, clean, convenient to the center, and comfortable (great bed). Breakfast will fit any diet. Heat is more than ample. We asked them to recommend a driver to could take us into the mountains for c. 4 hours, and one of the brothers volunteered for a very fair price. Recommended without qualification."

"This place is so special! Absolutely beautiful location, the staff is so sweet, breakfast is great with a mountain view. The rooms feel so special. This is a hidden gem and there's no way it can stay a secret for long. Note, though, that you *definitely* need to have your own car if you're staying here. It's very remote and there are no restaurants in the town currently (at least while we were staying there). Totally worth it but just something to know."

Campagna has historical sites which housed Jews during war, but the Italians were kind to the prisoners, which caused some their lives. US bombed Campagna causing deaths to Jews and citizens, but my family realizes it was a stratigic strike. Catacombs under church dating way back. Great Catina there, also pizzaria "
