"This house was really unique for us for its rustic look and use of natural materials. The beds were comfortable, and there was so much space to relax including huge patio and cozy living room. "Nice house, the description is pretty accurate. Quite comfortable for 8 people. We stayed in the mid of summer; the pool was very warm. The river was also warm and good for swimming. The things to pay attention to: - during hot days A/C works to full capacity. - the closest store is 10-15 min away, not walkable - if you are uncomfortable driving steep up/down hill, and sharp turns, consider staying elsewhere. "Our group of 10 enjoyed our stay in Penafiel. The property is beautiful - gorgeous sunset, nice pool and a friendly neighbourhood cat. The kitchen has everything that one would need, although it could use a larger kitchen sink! We loved the outdoor bbq and pizza oven. The owner communicated well with us. "Overall this was a good stay. The riverfront, Cockburn’s & a fantastic Fado restaurant is within easy walking distance Our choice of room was double-booked & we were given the larger house. The ac had been turned off because the nights were cool. The problem was the day was very warm & the house was stuffy and we were told that we couldn’t leave the door open. The owner turned the ac on later in the night & it was very pleasant afterward."
