My husband and I recently stayed at The Bay Hotel, choosing this property to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy a relaxing end to our 21-day trip in South Africa. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of the expectations we had.
Firstly, we noted ongoing construction around the hotel during our stay, which made it difficult to enjoy your outdoor areas and impacted our overall relaxation, especially during breakfast when the noise was particularly disruptive. Had we known about the construction, we might have planned differently.
Additionally, upon checking in, we were surprised by the lack of acknowledgment of our anniversary, despite including a note about this in our booking. A warm welcome, or even a small acknowledgment, would have added a meaningful touch, especially for such a special occasion.
Lastly, the cleanliness of our room did not meet expectations; specifically, we found hair in the bathroom, which was quite unpleasant. For a hotel of this caliber, attention to detail in cleanliness is essential, especially considering the premium pricing.
While we appreciate the efforts of your staff, these issues detracted from our experience, and we wanted to share this feedback in hopes that it might be helpful for future guests.
