The property was recently restored with care and consideration, and today this historic home boasts sophisticated décor and four bedrooms with space for eight friends and family members.

The villa is set amid expansive gardens planted with rosemary, wildflowers and even vegetables. Let the scent of the herbs and Tuscan sun wash over you as you lounge by the outdoor patio or under the pergola, and as evening falls, serve aperitifs at one of the al-fresco dining areas as the barbecue heats up. After a day of sightseeing, stretch out in the woods inside the property or simply share your favourite snaps via Wi-Fi.

A recent restoration brought out the authentic character of this luxury vacation rental while giving it a modern . Cotto floors, beamed ceilings, shuttered windows and stone fireplaces give a warm, traditional look to the two sitting rooms, kitchen and formal dining room. Contemporary details such as lounge chairs, WIFI connection and even a dock station are unexpected yet playful. The fully equipped eat-in kitchen is both stylish and practical, with custom cabinets, a breakfast table and state-of-the-art appliances.

Sip the famed local wine in Montecarlo or leave your car at the close-by train station and take the train into central Florence. You can even drive to Pisa in 15 minutes or to the Beach in 25 minutes, or even to Cinque Terre in less than 1 hour. There are plenty of dining choices close to Villa Viola, from rustic trattorias to romantic restaurants, and if you need a special treat, the Bagni di Pisa spa is only a 10-minute drive away.

Relaxing Villa - great location

We really enjoyed our stay here. Easy check in and check out process and the location was great. It was quiet and relaxing. Nice restaurants nearby. Plenty of information provided if you're looking for activities nearby. The furniture in the living room could use a little refreshing/cleaning otherwise it was the perfect Italian vacation! We felt like locals. :-)

Kitchen should have been cleaned more thoroughly before we arrived. Mattresses in the two main bedrooms were old and sank in the middle. Upstairs bathroom oddly lacked towel hooks. I spite of all that the place still had charm.

Grand Villa in a picturesque setting

Brilliant service received from Monica. What a beautiful big Villa with a big kitchen with everything you need for your holiday. The bedrooms are modern and spacious. Beautiful grounds with plenty outside seating for entertaining. Overall a wonderful stay in a grand old Villa. Loved the cat, who always ran over to us to welcome us home. Rustic, charming & authentic villa set in beautiful grounds

We loved the authenticity & decor of the villa. Just rustic enough but with modern touches. The villa was set on beautiful grounds with picturesque scenery. Monica, the property manager, was an excellent communicator & went over and above to assist us doing our stay. Many of the power points didn’t work & most windows downstairs were missing fly screens. It would also be useful to know before booking that the bell tower up the road , chimes every 30 minutes/24 hours per day. This took a bit of getting used to & kept us all awake at night during the first few days of our stay. Charming during the day, but annoying at night

Villa Viola June 2024

The villa is set in a peaceful location, beautiful grounds, with everything we needed to enjoy the villa to its best. The beds are super comfy, we all had great nights sleep. Monica was in touch pre arrival and kept in touch during our stay to make sure we had the best time we could. Lucca is a 7 minute drive away with great parking to explore the city. La Cecca restaurant is within easy walking distance, with an excellent choice of local foods. Walking back when it is dark you are escorted by the fireflies twinkling like fairy lights. From the terrace you over look the mountains that surround Lucca, stunning views which included watching birds of prey flying above and the call and glimpses of a Hoopoe. Highly recommend the property. The terrace is east facing which I can imagine in the height of summer is perfect, however, it would be nice to have another terrace that catches the evening sun. Bannisters on the stairs would help for people that have reduced mobility.

Lucca stay

The property was in a nice location, only a few minutes drive to Lucca, the train station and the walled city. Lots of space for our family of 4. A really nice villa. Great grounds and a nice view of the mountains. Two issues we had. When we got to the house (mid Nov. outside temp of less than 55 degrees F) the heat in the house had not been turned on in advance of our check-in. Made for a cold first day and night as the house is large and took a while for the house to warm-up. Second, the listing states "clothes dryer". We expected there to be an electric clothes dryer. There was not. There are drying racks to hang wet clothes on. Overall a very nice stay and would recommend staying there.

Amazing Villa in the heart of Tuscany

This is one of the best accomodation that I've booked online. Villa Viola is full of beauty in every single room and has a stunning huge green park at your complete disposal. It takes you in an another world...in which you can really disconnect and relax. The agency, the landlord and the Villa manager Mariangela were just amazing people, full of attention to our needs and kind. They gave us also little presents for our staying. Me and my boyfriend will always keep this memory of the vacation as one of the best ever done. The location also is strategic If you want to visit Tuscany cause Lucca is very closed to Pisa and all the Versilia coast and 1 hour from Florence. I really suggest you to spend your vacation at Villa Viola! We will defenitely will back. NOTHING. Just repair the piano because It has historical value and it would be great to play it for guests!

Beautiful home near Lucca

Wonderful Stay

We are super happy and satisfied with our stay. The house was squeaky clean, well equipped and very elegantly decorated. It was everything we've expected. Outside dining area was to die for!! Great memories of life time. I wish there was more than one A/C but we were there during the hottest week of all times and still survived. If we or any of our friends ever plan to visit Lucca or surrounding area we'd highly recommend this house. We can not wait to be back!
