"The overall rating is 3 stars, on account of the outstanding location to one of the island's nicest beach areas and exemplary service from the host who is simply outstanding. However the small details added up and so many of them were missing that it dropped to a 3. Had these been there, it would have been a 4 rating for sure, but it will never achieve 5 star status until there is air con in the main living room area. During the Mauritian summer it was dangerously hot in the TV/dining/kitchen...

Le jardin était très privé et tranquille, et le chalet était spacieux et accueillant. / The rental is conveniently located a two-minute walk from the southern end of Trou aux Biches beach. This section of the beach is peaceful and good for snorkeling. The garden was very private and calm, and the cottage was spacious and homey."

"The bungalow has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Dominique and Gilbert were the most gracious hosts. We stayed at the bungalow for 3 weeks and enjoyed every moment. There was even a variety of drinks left for us in the fridge. No request was an inconvenience for them. The establishment is spacious and clean with more than enough towels and linen. Furniture is dated but entirely functional and everything you need is provided... fans, aircon, towels, fridge, microwave, kettle, gas rings, filtered water plus sufficient cooking utensils. Bedding changed every 3/4 days and cleaning by maids efficient. Accommodation is simple and basic in a good location for those on a budget. I look forward to returning again. "
