The Cabin is a cosy, private annex in the heart of Canterbury in Kent. Ultra snug and homely, this space is perfect for solo travellers and couples. With a double bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, modern shower room and a shared garden, you’ll have everything you could need. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, The Cabin will provide a comfortable base in Canterbury.
The Space:
The Cabin is a private annex attached to the owner's home. Offering a welcoming and comfortable place to stay in the centre of Canterbury, the space has everything you could need for a self-catering break.
With a cosy cottage feel, the kitchen is traditional in style and features a kitsch gingham curtain. Fully equipped with modern appliances and cookware, you’ll be able to prepare home cooked meals during your visit.
Head to the bedroom and you’ll find a tranquil space. With a large sash window looking out to the garden, you’ll feel relaxed here in no time. Enjoy long lazy mornings with a cup of tea watching the TV from the comfortable double bed.
The annex has a private shower room with a walk-in shower, WC and basin.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the annex via a private entrance to the side of the main building. The keys are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.
Please note the annex is attached to the owner's home, however there is no access into the main building from the annex and visa versa. Please also note that the owner’s dog may bark upon your arrival but she is very friendly! There is a spacious garden that you are welcome to use but please be aware that this is shared with the owner.
There are a number of pay and display carparks nearby and details will be provided prior to your arrival.
The Neighborhood:
The Cabin is located in the centre of the unique medieval walled city of Canterbury. One of the most famous and culturally significant cities in the UK, there is plenty for you to explore here. Just a short walk from Canterbury High Street and only 10-minutes from Greyfriars and Westgate Gardens, you’ll be perfectly placed to explore the city.
Discover Canterbury Cathedral which is one of the most iconic landmarks in England and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With stunning architecture, intricate stained-glass windows and a rich history, it’s no surprise it has over one million visitors per year!
You can also visit The Westgate Towers Museum and Viewpoint where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city from the top of the largest surviving medieval gateway in England and learn all about the city.
As well as historic attractions, Canterbury also has a vibrant arts scene, theatres and events throughout the year making it fun for all ages. A fantastic destination for shopping, dining and drinking, the city has an abundance of independent shops, eateries and bars waiting for you to explore.
Canterbury Festival is an annual two-week festival which offers a spectacular of music, contemporary dance, comedy, theatre, lectures, and much more! This festival is a fun and cultural experience, attracting audiences of up to 70,000 people. You will experience unique opportunities that are only available as part of Canterbury Festival!
Getting Around:
You’ll find restaurants, cafes and shops within walking distance from The Cabin, so you’ll be ideally placed to enjoy a retreat in Canterbury.
Canterbury West rail station is a 5-minute walk from the property where there are regular journeys to Margate, Ramsgate, London St Pancras and London Charing Cross. Plus, the journey into London is under 1 hour with Southeastern trains which is handy!
If you’re travelling by coach, the National Express coach stop is approximately a 5-minute walk from the property.
The nearby towns of Ashford, Broadstairs, Dover and Margate can be reached via car under 45 minutes so Kent can be explored easily. If you fancy heading to the seaside, the beautiful town of Whitstable is a short 20-minute drive away.
If you intend to explore by bus, the nearest bus stop is within walking distance and serves the University of Kent, Whitstable, Herne Bay and Margate.
