"I was planning on camping a couple of nights near Keswick, weather not looking good for a late arrival so decided to stay at Derwentwater Hotel... so glad I did! - At check in I was greeted in a really professional manner, in the bar the staff were super friendly! That was my opening night. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, set me up fuel wise for my planned ascent of Skiddaw (walking past a farm I camped at 47 years ago on my first Scout Camp!!) My hike up Skiddaw, descending to Keswick...

"Single room, had larger sized single bed that was extremely comfortable. Room good, bathroom dated. Clean but not sparkling. The breakfast buffet was the best I've had in recent years of staying at cheapish travel stopovers. Staff fantastic."
