Barton is a suburb full of government departments. It has a lot of great lunch venues and would be considered a bit posh' by most Canberrans. If you're after an evening venue you can stroll down to Kingston (less than 10 minutes). Also, consider going for an early morning run around the lake.
Many bus services run through Barton - ACT Gov transport website or catch a taxi or UBER.
