Excellent Location
Well placed just a very short walk to the beach and good restaurants, beach bars nearby. Quiet, nice to just sit out the back just reading. Good location for visiting Cefalu and Palermo with hire car

Maria was more than a host she really cared about how we would enjoy our stay and our comfort I would highly recommend maria’s Home and I will definitely be staying here again I didn’t want to leave Maria has become my new friend with whom I will keep in touch the beach and water and the apartment were the best much more than 5 star I can’t wait to return to this paradise

Tired old place
This is a tired old villa that needs complete refurbishment. 2.5 rooms with tatty old furniture, a curtain rail that falls off when you open the curtains and old fans in the bedroom. There are no wardrobes only rails with curtains in front of them. No drawers in the main bedroom, no clothes rail in the other bedroom, no window in the small box room (only a musty smell). The only air conditioning unit is in the main lounge area (and the owner will want to charge you for using it!). Kitchen hob lighter does not work so its dangerous to light the hob. Water is not suitable for drinking! Insufficient cutlery, no cooking knives and only 2 wine glasses for a family villa. No place settings or coasters in sight. The bathroom is dreadful, smallest shower I've ever used - water spills out everywhere. Old towels, old linen, old parasols and only one lounger. Seafront location was the attraction but this beach isn't great and the place is awkward to get to. On the plus side, there is parking and outdoor water supply to hose off sand and there is a barbeque but we just wished we'd stayed elsewhere.

Sehr idyllisch und nette Gastgeberin
Wir waren eine Gruppe von 5 Personen und waren sehr zufrieden mit unseren Aufenthalt. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr nett und hatten uns immer Informationen zur Umgebung geben. Unterkunft war sauber und es gab nicht zu bemängeln. Strand direkt vor der Haustür. Auto wird benötigt, da der nächste Supermarkt ca. 3 Kilometer entfernt ist. Küche und alle anderen Zimmer waren gut ausgestattet (Strandschirm etc.). Sehr zu empfehlen.

Große Erwartungen
Wir hatten das Haus für zwei Familien mit insgesamt drei Kindern gemietet. Der Strand ist wirklich sehr nah und nur über die Promenadenstraße vom Haus getrennt (Badeschuhe empfehlenswert). Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin im Vorfeld lief fantastisch. Die Bilder vermittelten uns den Eindruck eines sehr geräumigen Hauses mit üppig viel Platz nicht nur im Außenbereich. Jedoch empfanden wir das Haus als ausgesprochen klein und nicht annähernd für 9 Personen geeignet, sondern eher für 5. Genau so viele feste Schlafplätze gibt es auch (2 Queensize und ein Einzelbett). Alle Zimmer wirkten auf den Fotos bedeutend geräumiger. Das kleinste Zimmer war nicht breiter als ca. 1,50 m. Nur eins der drei Zimmer war groß genug für ein zusätzliches Klappbett. Wir waren froh um die 2 zusätzlichen Klappbetten, damit das ausgezogene Sofabett nicht auch noch Platz in dem kleinen Wohnzimmer wegnahm. Diese zwei zusätzlichen Betten, um die wir vor Ort gebeten hatten, haben wir auch quasi sofort bekommen. Die beiden Bäder waren ebenfalls sehr klein, so dass ein korpulenter Mensch nur mit Wandkontakt duschen kann. Die zusätzliche Außendusche befindet sich vor dem Fenster des Nachbarhäuschens. Begrüßt und begleitet wurden wir von unzähligen Ameisen, so dass der Vermieter uns Ameisenpulver zur Verfügung stellte. Trinkwasser gibt es an einem Außenhahn am Morgen. Das Gefrierfach funktionierte einwandfrei, der Kühlschrank kühlte nur mäßig, so dass wir Lebensmittel (Milch, Hackfleisch) wegschmeißen mussten. Einige Steckdosen funktionierten nicht, so dass wir uns mit selbst gekauften Verlängerungen beholfen haben. Wenn 7 Personen ihre Handys, Laptops etc. laden müssen, geht es außerdem nicht ohne weitere Steckerleisten. WLAN funktionierte, sofern nicht jemand streamte. Vorsicht: Wenn man über die App bucht, erfährt man nicht, dass noch zusätzliche Kosten für die Elektrizität (klimatisiertes Wohnzimmer) am Ende abgerechnet werden. Am Abreisetag durften wir unser Auto noch im abgeschlossenen Hof stehen lassen und auch die Außendusche benutzen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmte in unseren Augen nicht. Im Nachhinein ist uns aufgefallen, dass die sehr guten Bewertungen aus den Jahren bis 2013 stammen.
