"Staying at Filminia was one of the most memorable highlights of our Italian Grande Tour. Nestled in the heart of Sirmione, this charming, family-run hotel offers more than just comfort—it offers character, soul, and an unforgettable human story. The real treasure here is Rosella, the 79-year-old hotel owner and fifth-generation hotelier. She’s a triathlete, martial artist, yoga enthusiast, and—believe it or not—recently biked across India. Rosella still works every day, making sure the hotel and adjacent restaurant are run with care, warmth, and an incredible sense of tradition. She embodies the spirit of hospitality and heritage. Rooms are cozy and full of character, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the location is perfect for exploring the lake, the Grotte di Catullo, and the charming old town. Breakfast was fresh and served with genuine warmth—just like everything else here. If you’re looking for a hotel with heart, history, and a host you’ll never forget, Filminia is the place. We left with full hearts and hope to return soon. "

"My husband and I had an amazing stay here. The food was great, the staff was friendly, they offered us lots of snacks and plenty of water in our rooms, daily housekeeping, just all in all a great experience. We got married at Isola del Garda, just a 30 minute boat ride from the dock behind the hotel which was convenient. The asthetic of the property was very elegant, old money luxury. We loved the heated outdoor pool for when the sun was out, and we enjoyed the indoor spa and heated pool for when it rained. The only complaints I have is that the area isn't very walkable, and the taxis are insanely high priced. We had the hotel call us a taxi to go about 16 minutes up the street and back & paid 75€. Insane. Public transportation is the only thing that makes sense in Italy unless you're on a splurge. "
