Beds are Very comfortable, very clean and the dsily stock up on Pastry, buscuits and milk ect. Is a brilliant touch.
Abacus is certainly good for the price point, but I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a couple of days. The room was OK, small and smelled a little odd (I think because of the fridge) but otherwise mostly clean and comfortable. The owner was friendly. Included breakfast was a bonus.
WiFi was patchy, which I would normally overlook, but given the mobile reception in the area is bad, it did create a problem.
The biggest problem is the shared bathrooms. They're more like tiny cupboards that you can barely move in, and both somehow have a toilet, shower and sink crammed in. They're kept quite clean but given that you have to do some gymnastics to avoid putting your foot in the toilet when getting out of the shower really isn't great.
Could do with a bit of a refresh (and a thorough review of the bathroom situation), but otherwise good.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Like: quiet, gr8 walking area,co-operative staff & owner, easy access close to shopping.
Not like: changed room at last minute, advised of this almost too late; ceiling above bed very close to head (dangerous); no top sheet (but provided when I asked); stairway to bedroom very steep; only 1 fire exit on ground floor and no key for the possible 2nd exit.
Very clean, easy to navigate, off road parking, helpful text to let me know details of directions, parking and getting in etc. Tea and coffee, snacks in room with fridge, towels nice touch. Very tidy with pretty garden view from kitchen. Help yourself breakfast, most things you could want. Very reasonable price.
Host was great. She only had 10 minutes notice of our arrival, but still managed to get us all the information we needed to access the room, with no face to face contact.
This is the second time I’ve stayed here and just like the first it was as good as ever. Very clean and accommodating. Free parking, very quiet. Plenty of channels on the Tv, fridge in the rooms
Room was pleasant and ideal for what we were looking for. Easy parking and lovely breakfast. Plenty of accommodating extra options were offered if needed.
Abacus is a comfortable place to stay, where space allows adequate facilities with value for money at an excellent standard of cleanliness. I particularly liked the well stocked communal kitchen dining room, giving welcome opportunity for meeting other guests at breakfast.
The location is a bit off track. Plenty of parking. The room was very clean. It lacked a sink in the room or drink making facilities in the room.. There are facilities for drinks and making your own breakfast in the downstairs kitchen. Overall a clean And comfortable stay
Nice little place that’s tucked in a wooded area. Links to local bus and rail services are about a 15-20 minute walk. Lovely continental spread for breakfast. High ratio of toilet/showers to rooms.

Lovelly refurbished property..
Heating was off for all nights of my stay, freezing cold in the room. Windows constantly open in the both crammed WC's/Showers so to take an early morning shower in that cold was a bit too much(was -2 one morning).Overwhelming smell from the kitchen downstairs while other guests cooking in evenings and no sound proof at all.No housekeeping day before my departure? Othervise quite clean.Breakfast? MacDonalds not very far from there..perhaps not the most healty option but at least serving hot food.
Was asked to send bank details by Owner for the future booking via SMS or e-mail was a down point and after all above I've promissed myself: NO MORE B&B's! Even I need to stay in area for another 7 months due to work commitments.
Lovelly refurbished property othervise..
Clean, easy check in, parking directly out front, TV & fridge in rooms, modern kitchen with a great range of extras (milk, juices, sugar, coffee press etc). While bathrooms are shared and rather small, there is two of them shared amongst four rooms so there is never any issue getting a shower in the morning.
