This rental is centrally located on the Keweenaw, which allowed easy access to various activities on the peninsula. If you're planning to cook, would recommend bringing your own tools, as the kitchen is pretty bare bones. The unit was very clean and beds were comfortable.
This was a super convenient and affordable place for our group to stay during MTU graduation weekend. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for all 5 of us - ages 17 to 87. We did not spend a lot of time there, but it served our needs very well.
We had a great time staying at your place. I would recommend your place to anytime. I have only one suggestion to put something on the back door window
We loved the flexibility of the dates for our stay. Many places don’t accept mid week begin or end dates. The large parking area was perfect for our truck and fishing boat.
Very clean! Great location as far as touring the area! Not a good location if you had young children, very close to a busy road!
We would definitely recommend staying at Sunny Side!
This home was clean and comfortable. All amenities we would wish for were provided. The host was responsive to questions. The location was easy to find. The location along the highway came with a bit of additional street noise, but it wasn’t as loud as it could have been. We really enjoyed this property.
We enjoyed our stay at Becky’s townhouse - ideal for our time in the Keweenaw. The rental has everything needed and some nice extra touches such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. We also liked that the rental is close to both Calumet and Laurium. We enjoyed biking to both.
We’d like to come up in the fall some time, and will consider this rental when we do.
The property is as advertized. Small but clean and priced right. Very cute and comfortable. We mostly were off on adventures, and this property was at the center of the pennisula, making it very convient. Owner was very responsive to any needs. Maybe not the place if you want to spend all day at home due to size and proximity to highway. Perfect as a base.
House has everything you could need. We were on motorcycles so we really appreciated the hooks everywhere and the boot dryer came in handy when getting stuck in the rain. Bathroom is on the first floor and bedrooms are upstairs but it was not a problem for us. Overall, very comfortable stay. Would stay again next time we are in the area. Close to downtown Calumet and grocery store.
This was a great property and definitely served the purpose of a place to stay while we were visiting family at Michigan Tech. It was clean and updated! We did have some struggles regulating the temperatures in the upstairs bedrooms, when we would adjust the thermostat upstairs some rooms would be cold and others hot no matter what we did. We also were excited to try out the coffee bar but there was no cream or sugar so we couldn’t take advantage of that. Would recommend for a quick weekend trip!!
This vrbo was very clean and comfortable . It is located perfectly near Calumet which is a great town to visit . There’s a fire pit in back yard. The beds are all upstairs. We had this to ourselves first night. 2nd night there was someone next door. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have booked this if I knew it was right on 41 but glad we did. We got a great deal and the traffic from 41 didn’t disturb us. We would definately return.
or anyone else who needs to make bathroom trips during the night. The three bedrooms are upstairs, while the only bath is down a steep staircase and at the back of the house. Also not for readers—-no lamps in the living room or bedrooms, just overhead lighting. Location is good, exterior is nicely done with comfy chairs and fire pit. Very clean, basic lodging, could use some amenities like better quality bedding and dishes—and double ply toilet paper.

Clean & budget-friendly, but…
… set your expectations accordingly. The housekeeper for this property deserves a raise, but the property itself is not well kept nor does it offer many amenities. It is steps from the highway, so noise can be a problem. The long weekend we visited was unusually warm with highs in the upper 80s to near 90, but the property was listed as having air conditioning. What that meant in reality were window AC units in two of the three bedrooms, one of which was so loud it could not be run at night when trying to sleep. Further, only two windows in the living area had screens, so most of the downstairs had to remain closed up and stuffy.
There is no dishwasher (again, budget-friendly), but we had to message the property owner about providing sponges to even wash the dishes. Also, there were no glasses in the cabinet - only small plastic cups that held no more than 4 or 6 ounces. No icemaker in the refrigerator (budget-friendly!), but only one measly ice cube tray was in the freezer and it was empty upon our arrival.
The duplex is just very bare with no charm, no table lamps in any room - just harsh, overhead fluorescent lighting. Kitchen is not well stocked (fry pans that are provided are worn and food stained) and we also had to ask the property owner for tissues.
Overall, I would not recommend a stay at this property. It’s basically a roof over your head, but it was very clean and the property did respond quickly to our messages and at least dropped off dishwashing supplies.
