"The online 1-star rating is not really justified. Although basic, this place is worth the $55 fee. The Hotels.com experience is to be avoided, they overcharged on the rate. The room was basic, the bed below average, but seeing the many species and number of sea birds in the early morning is a treat. The dirt driveway to the site is a biet of a pain."

"Gino was very helpful. Room was ok but tired. We had to have Gino take our luggage up the hill in his 4 wheel drive truck. The town is dumpy with narrow dirt road. Dinning was fine. Snorkeling was great, BUT it requires a 1.5 hour ride each way in open water in a 20’ boat. On the way out we sat in the front of the boat. About every 5 minutes the boat smash down with me wondering if the boat and my back were going to break. Sit in the back of boat! "

"Hotel with lots of colors. Reception area is fantastic. Chairs, wall are painted with hundreds of colors. Calm hotel with polite staff."

"We stayed in one of the larger cabins and had a wonderful, laid back Panama beach stay! We loved our cottage, being on the beach, relaxing in our hammocks on the porch, and chatting with the lovely waiter when we had our meals. The meals were great, too! This is a fun, relaxing place to stay when you just want to kick back and live on a beach! Can't wait to stay longer next time!"

Fantastic stay at Sol y Mar

"We loved our stay. Geno our host was so welcoming & helpful. The breakfast was very nice with fresh juice & fruit. The stairs were ok, but may not be great for all travelers. Geno will try to be available to help with luggage if you give him an estimated arrival time. He has great suggestions for restaurants, tours & kayak rentals. We would definitely recommend!! "

The only Private Beachfront 2 story House Rental in Pixvae

Sonia's Place

"The property was as pictured, but the solar power was not sufficient. We only used the fans at night, but in the street side bedroom the batteries ran out after a couple of hours. The manager only spoke Spanish, so explaining the battery operation was difficult. Ants and insects quickly invaded even though we kept our food in the freezer. We felt the property was over priced for what we got. About Pixvae. Know that Pixvae is very hot! The breeze stops when the sun goes down, but the temperature does not cool off much. We found it very difficult to sleep with the heat, barking dogs, roosters and howler monkeys. The locals are friendly, but only speak Spanish, so if you don't, communicating will be difficult."
