"What a great host and the setting was absolutely heavenly. We came so my wife and daughters experience Pico as it was the home of my Avo and Ava who where from Lages do Pico and they get to know there heritage. We will return again for a much longer stay and the people of the Pico are warm and friendly will to assist. "Its an amazing house all around. Don't look any further. If i ever visit Pico again, I would stay at this house over and over again. There is a super cute restaurant 200 meters from the house. Very good food. Great atmosphere. Narural pool for swimming down the road. You can see it from the patio. But to get there , you have to drive down. The property is about 30 minites from the airport. "The house was comfortable. The gentleman living in the adjacent home was very gracious, helpful and welcoming. The house is as listed. It is a short walk to the ocean. The view of the volcano, Pico, is magnificent. The house is about 15 minutes driving from the airport, 15-20 minutes from a supermarket, and 20-25 minutes from the ferry in Magdalena. "Casa Santana is relatively recently renovated traditional stone house with beautiful views out over the sea and the island of Sao Jorge and easy access to some lovely walks including one along the coast. "It was great to be able to stay in the same neighborhood where my new-found cousin lives. The only issue we had was the stairs. It should be made clear that the bedrooms and bathroom are all upstairs and the stairs were difficult for my sister (age 82). We loved it though. Arlette was very attentive."

"Loved the house,loved the location. Miguel was quick to address any questions we had. My only criticism is that there was no comfortable place to sit. We encountered terrible downpours and were confined to the house for an afternoon. There was no sofa or even a comfortable chair to sit and read a book. "The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The location of this hotel was perfect! If you want to see the stone arch, it is next door to the hotel. If you want to swim in the natural pool, it is on the other side of the hotel. The hotel also has a pool and lovely grounds. The breakfast is great, as well. Sao Jorge Gardens if definitely a place I will stay again."

"Kind people operating it. The property has a great view to the Pico Mountain, there are multiple houses lined up on a small street. It's a very peaceful vibe. It's within walking distance (an a beautiful walk - nice village with flowers, and fruits) to a cafe/bakery, a couple of restaurants, and a nice natural pool for swimming."

Relaxing Incredibly Beautiful Stay

"This is a very special place and I would highly recommend it especially to nature lovers. The house is clean, so comfortable, and well laid out. Fun outdoor kitchen and hammock area. And the setting is incredible. Views of the verdant mountains and beautiful sea. My family and I loved the hike to the parking area. Not having a vehicle was a fun experience. We loved hearing the birds at night and seeing the stars. Plus the fresh bread delivered each morning. The hosts are wonderful, responsive, and helpful. This was my favorite stay on our trip to the Azores."
