"An overnight stop on the way to Pembrokeshire. Staff were all very friendly and the food was very good. The hotel is on quite a busy road, though we did go for a walk along the local canal and golf course and that was pleasant - and we avoided the thunderstorms !"

"Lovely Victorian hotel in great location with a steep history. Unfortunately the hotel seems to be in a time warp and not in touch with modern day competition with regards to room quality tv, bed, furnishings. The dining options were extremely close windowed and not flexible. Breakfast was really poor quality with limited choice with many expected food items not bailable or offered. It seemed to be more in line with a seaside bed and breakfast offering rather than what appeared to be a 4 star hotel. We don't regret staying at The Metropole. Just that we were a little disappointed "
