Perfect Location For Your Lake Getaway

Sunset Cottage at Lake Barkley is a beautifully renovated, 4 bedroom 4 bath waterfront rental home in a quiet cove near Lake Barkley Lodge and Marina. The home has been professionally decorated, with attention to detail to make your stay relaxing and memorable.

Sunset Cottage will accommodate multi-family and friend gatherings and reunions, as it has beds for 12 but will sleep up to 14 people. The kitchen has new stainless appliances, and is fully stocked for families who enjoy cooking. A propane gas grill is also provided. The eat-in kitchen provides a large island that seats 8. A spacious deck has a dining table for 8 and beautiful outdoor wicker furniture. A screened-in porch on the lower level provides a dining table for 6 and wicker furniture to seat an additional 9 people.

The property has a gently sloped yard that leads to a private covered dock and 2 jet ski pads. Guests are invited to use the perimeter of the private dock during the summer months as the owner's boat occupies the covered lift. Ropes and bumpers are provided. A fire pit near the water's edge provides the perfect opportunity for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, or just relaxing and making memories with family and friends.

Sunset Cottage is located in the popular Little River area of Lake Barkley, with Sandy Beach just across the bay. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching the deer play at the water's edge, or catch a glimpse of the famous Bald Eagles and Great White Pelicans as they soar across the lake.

Two kayaks are provided for guests who would like to explore the tranquil area by water.

The home's loft is the ideal space for a family with kids. It has a king-size bed and 2 twin beds with trundles to accommodate 2 additional persons. The loft includes a full private bath, and a 36 inch Smart TV. Additional Smart TV's are equipped with YouTube TV in the Master Bedroom (42 inch) and Lower Level Family Room (55 inch). The Lower Level Blue Bedroom has a 32 inch flat screen TV with YouTube TV. Ample parking space is provided with driveways on both sides of the home, and includes a carport.

The Rivers End boat ramp is conveniently located just down the street from the entrance of our subdivision, Parkview Shores (approx 1/2 mile).

We had a wonderful stay at Mike's lake house. He was the best host that I have ever had at a rental property. The house and grounds were very well kept and Mike was very attentive. Note that the lake and firepit are is quite a bit further from the house than anticipated but the exercise didn't hurt.

We had a great time! The house is lovely and well-appointed. We really enjoyed the fire pit and were lucky enough to have the weather clear for us on New Year’s Eve so we could enjoy a fabulous sunset. Great place and hope to return one day soon!

Absolutely perfect!
This cottage and setting was beautiful! We loved every moment from fishing off the dock with our boys, drinking coffee in the AM while looking at the stunning view and enjoying the fire pit at night under the stars. The house was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed and more and the owner was gracious and accommodating. The only disappointment you will experience is having to leave it all behind! Highly recommend!

Everything about this was amazing. The house was amazing (clean, well stocked with necessities, plenty of room, great layout, wonderful views of lake). The communication with owners was amazing (timely, helpful, accommodating). The lake was amazing (good fishing from dock or boat, great beach across the channel for kids to swim, low traffic). We would definitely stay here again. Strongly recommend for a family or any group looking for a fun relaxing trip.

Three generations of family stayed in May. The house was beautiful and exactly as described/pictured, and it was stocked so well that we didn't need to supply any kitchen items. Great view
It was a great house. We watched the boats and barges go by. One morning we had deer in the yard. It was a very quiet area. We had 9 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of room. Though the kitchen and living room wasn’t as big as it looked, but you had a big area downstairs and we didn’t spend much time inside anyway. We would definitely rent again! Communication was great with Mike.

Very nice property.
The number of bedrooms/bathrooms were perfect for our group. The kitchen was well enough equipped that we were able to cook Christmas Eve/Day Dinner. Having two fridges and two washer/dryers was a bonus. My only very very small complaint was the plethora of throw pillows in the bedrooms and family gathering room that made it difficult to put them aside and out of the way. They look nice but so many just aren’t practical. Everything was great and we enjoyed ourselves.

Perfect place to unplug
This property was great for my family! We hoped to catch more fish but that’s always a gamble. Mike was awesome at communicating. There aren’t a lot of places near by to grab groceries. There is a food giant and dollar general in Cadiz. But their selections are scare for produce. Maybe grab groceries before you get there or stop in Benton. House was well stocked and clean! Thanks Mike!

Ultimate Relaxation
My 83 year-old mom, sister and I loved our stay here so much we did not leave the property from check-in to check-out. We made all our meals in the beautiful, well stocked kitchen. Spent our mornings on the deck, afternoons sitting by the lake and then headed in to the screened porch until dinner. I also took advantage of the kayaks every morning exploring beautiful Lake Barkley. This property was perfect for my mom because getting up and down to the lake didn't require stairs or maneuvering a super steep hill like many of the lake houses I saw, just a slight hill she was able to handle just fine. This was our second trip to Sunset Cottage and we are already talking about making our third.

Just needed more time, and warm weather
What a beautiful place, and a gorgeous setting. Unfortunately, it was too chilly to enjoy the outside this trip. But the house was so clean and comfy, we just enjoyed hanging out inside. There were 8 of us. Parents, sisters and husbands. And we all decided we should go back when it warms up so we can enjoy the deck, screened in porch, fire pit, kayaks, walking along the lake, etc. Thanks, Mike!

Sunset Cottage - Multiple Family Vacation
Great location right on the lake. 3 bedrooms, a loft area with a Queen and 2 twins (and 2 trundles) plus a pull-out sleeper sofa provided enough seeping space for our family of 14. We brought our own boat but rented jet skis from both Moon River Resort and Marina and Lake Barkley Marina. Moon River was about a 10-minute drive and Lake Barkley was about a 30-minute drive (only 5-10 minutes by boat). The dock was perfect for our use. There was plenty of seating around the fire pit for cooking s’mores. The house had a wonderful kitchen with an island that seated 8 of us and plenty of seating on the deck (with a beautiful view of the lake). The host, Mike, was very responsive and answered all questions very quickly. I’d highly recommend Sunset Cottage for your next Lake Barkley vacation.
