The beautiful cottage is situated in a quiet cove that is perfect for those craving thrilling water activities such as skiing and tubing or peaceful activities as canoeing and kayaking. The mouth of Little River is nearby, providing year-round water for the private boat dock and a public boat launch is conveniently located minutes away.
Don’t forget your walking shoes or bikes for memorable hikes and relaxing walks. The Gray Dog Cottage is in a peaceful cul-de-sac which is perfect for early morning walks or moonlight escapes to immerse yourself in nature’s beauty or experience some sweet solitude.
The cottage boasts 3 nautical themed bedrooms and is furnished with 2 king and 1 queen beds. The cathedral ceiling great room has a gas log fireplace for cozy nights as well as plenty of room for an air mattress to provide additional sleeping space.
Free Wi-Fi is available, and every bedroom has Roku television and a DVD player for personal viewing. Linens are provided along with washer and dryer for your convenience.
The kitchen is equipped with a full-size stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffeemaker, silverware, dishes, and a variety of cooking utensils.
A wrap-around deck enables wildlife viewing with maximum outdoor living and entertainment. A gas grill is located on the upper deck with ample sitting for outdoor dining overlooking stunning lake views. Carolyn was a wonderful host. We entered the home with soft music playing and cookies for snacking. She was available for any questions. The home is on the lake with beautiful views and the home itself is very cosy.

Fun little get away!
We had a blast staying at the lake. We brought our boat, went tubing, and swam off the dock. The cottage was in great shape and the kitchen had everything you needed to prepare meals. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone.

Great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. Lake access is hard to beat. There is no wifi and cell service isn't great if those are important for your stay.

It was a very nice place to stay. Very clean and well kept.
The view was worth every penny. The inside could use a few updates on appliances and possibly internet or TV ( we were there in the fall and inside at 7:00) if your there in the summer probably wouldn't have noticed! Over all wonderful place to stay. Would do it again!

Quiet with a great view
This was my family’s first trip to this lake. The weekend was great, memorable and relaxing. This home was warm and inviting. The host was supportive, replied in a timely manner any time I had a question, was respectful of our family time, and is someone I would like to work with for future trips. The view was amazing from the back porch. My parents enjoyed being able to fish off the dock first thing in the morning. This area of the lake is a great spot to kayak in as there is a small cove to the left of the property. We enjoyed seeing some of the wildlife right in the backyard!

View from the Deck is the best!
This is a nice house right on the water of Lake Barkley. There is a private dock that the kids played on the whole time. Swimming, fishing, kayaking(we had our own). The house is on an open cove so there is some boat traffic but most of it is across the inlet. There is a very quiet cove just around the corner that the kids loved kayaking and fishing in. There is a nice ladder on the dock for swimming. The kids practiced on a stand up paddle board and flipping over and re-entering kayaks in safety. The water area and the view from the deck are the best features and worth checking out. The cabin is nicely appointed we even broke out the included ice cream maker and had the kids enjoy that! If you bring a family, we recommend bringing some plastic cups and paper plates. All the options in the kitchen were glass and I was a nervous wreck with the kids using them. Communication was excellent from the owner. We definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful time at the lake house. 4 adults and 2 children we had lots of room to spread out. Having 2 patio areas was nice.The view is beautiful.We took the boat and it was so convenient to dock and go up to the house if we needed anything. The kids enjoyed playing with their battery operated boat off the dockThere is a boat lift which was nice.My husband uses a walker and it was very easy for him to get around. We cooked in and had everything we needed.The beds were very comfortable.The house was very clean.Our grandchildren said this was one of their favorite places to come.We made great memories here!! Carolyn and her husband were a phone call away if we needed anything.There were fresh chocolate chip cookies for us to enjoy which was a nice touch they were delicious !! We will definitely rent this home again !!! Thank you for sharing your home with us !!

PERFECT
The area/neighborhood was nice and scenic. The lake house was perfect. The pics on Vrbo don’t do it justice. Everything was clean inside and out and the dock offers great swimming and fishing. We dropped an underwater night fishing light from end of dock and the kids loved catching fish like this. We brought a boat and the launch is very close. Carolyn really does make cookies for guests and they didn’t last long (very good).there is a welcome packet that features helpful info on the area for anything ranging from groceries, restaurants to recreational and sight seeing places. Our signal with Sprint was sketchy and we couldn’t Google where to go so this packet was very helpful. We didn’t miss WiFi at all. Old school ways are good for you now and then!
