Due to the strong undertow on the Pacific Ocean, there is no swimming allowed in the ocean right on Sunset Beach. However, there are several massive free form pool areas with swim-up restaurant/bars and spectacular views available -- including the beachfront pool area and the 'Sky Pool' with an amazing view overlooking the entire resort! The soft, clean sand at Sunset Beach is ideal for long walks or an afternoon game of sand volleyball.
Sunset Beach is only 10 minutes drive or a free hourly shuttle ride to the calm swimming waters and numerous watersports available at Medano Beach (on the Sea of Cortez) and the adjacent boat marina -- walking distance from downtown's famous nightclubs: Cabo Wabo, Hard Rock Cafe, The Giggling Marlin, and El Squid Roe!
