"Very difficult to get to - hour and a half of bumpy roads to Carate, then a 3.5k hike. The logistics were not well communicated, but worked out fine. Hot (mid-April visit). The grounds are pretty special with spider monkeys frolicking in the trees right above the tents and ocean waves supplying 24-7 white noise. The guided hike into the National Park was underwhelming - the wildlife was superb, but you only skirt the periphery of the park and don't get to really explore the old growth. "

"This is a lovely place, but I can't give it a great review because on the day we checked-in no one was available at the hotel to answer the phone. Answering the phone when you have guest traveling from out of country, and to a very remote location is standard basic custom service. "My wife and I had an incredible stay here. The place was spacious and well appointed. We made all our meals and enjoyed while watching the moneys play in the trees above. As many others have mentioned the drive in is part of the adventure and you'll want a high clearance 4x4. The beach is a short walk away and also full of wildlife. The Kig Luis waterfall is well worth the hike. Isaac and his wife were awesome and very responsive. Love this place and Costa Rica!"

"This open air home was immaculate! It was perfectly equipped with incredible cookware, fabulous bathrooms and the roar of the sea. We were prepped to keep all food in a convenient lockable pantry so the monkeys would not steal anything. The monkeys tried but we were prepared. The comfortable beds were screened with overhead fans. Perfect!"
