"Wonderful stay. The view is amazing. Smaller vineyard compared to the big and more popular wineries in the area, which is what we like. The drive up is beautiful. About 35 minutes from Pinhao downtown. Moises greeted us and gave us the tasting tour. We didn’t expect to learn such an amazing family history of the people and the farm. Filipa brings us wonderful organic breakfast to our door every morning. You can see her working around the farm from early morning."

"This is my second time staying at the property and it was the same magical experience. This time around I just wanted to relax and enjoy the property. And that I did! I spent my days enjoying the trails, in enjoying the multiple fireplaces on the property. And of course the dinner. The food wine and port made for an unforgettable stay. "

"For us, this was a great choice. A quiet location and we had a view of the river from our room and also from the common area patios. The hotel clerk gave us excellent advice to take the scenic train from the station across the street which was a wonderful experience. He also showed us a scenic drive through the wine country with a detour to a lookout point which was breathtaking. However this is a very isolated location with one restaurant next door and one across the street. We did have a great meal at the next door restaurant. But if you are looking for lots of dining options this is not the place to stay. The room itself was a bit small and not recently updated. But it was very quiet and we had the window open all night with a nice breeze off the river. Breakfast was a full buffet with lots of options. "

"Our stay for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary was exceptional in every way! The views of the land are breath taking, walking around the beautiful property and enjoying the pool was relaxing (we had good sunny weather..the pool was on the chilly side but we and eventually 2 other couples all went in for a refreshing dip!) We really enjoyed the intimate tour of the wine making area and did a tasting, bought a 20 year tawny and 2 vintage ports ( we already had been in Porto and the valley having done several tastings and this one really was the best for us.) We had pre arranged dinner for our anniversary night and took Matheus' recommendation of the 'goat rice' and it was delicious! He paired a red wine and we were perhaps in heaven! (It was so good we shared it with the other couples at least for a taste).He arranged a wonderful surprise by inviting us back to the wine production area to release the last batch of fermenting wine in the (granite?) stone tank to be transferred to the huge stainless steel tank. What a fun and interesting experience we otherwise would probably never see! Matheus went over and above to make this wedding anniversary unforgettable. He was always prompt with emails helping to arrange dinner and transportation and so very welcoming when we finally arrived. Liked access to the kitchen for wine/coffee/tea and availability of charcuterie. Our room was perfect except the bed was quite firm, we would prefer more plush. This was the highlight of our trip!"

"The property is very unique, special. Located directly on the Douro river with incredible views. The house was welcoming, comfortable and clean. The food cooked for us was always in abundance and delicious. They, Elena and Claudia, looked after our needs (dining, drinks, laundry, etc) very well and kindly. Pedro as our concierge was incredibly valuable. He helped us with every aspect of our stay - securing boat moorings, confirming reservations, acting as a translator, helping above and beyond duty in an emergency that required hospitalization. He checked in with us daily, sometimes more than once to see if there was anything he was able to help plan and to ensure we were always comfortable. Our stay at the villa would not have been as wonderful without the staffing and Pedro. On a note that should be considered is the drive to the villa - it is a steep, windy and narrow road down through vineyards. There are no shops or ATM’s nearby. There is a train, small, that runs directly behind the villa but it never interfered with our stay. We actually enjoyed the train as it occasionally passed by. Overall, the stay was very memorable and enjoyable. Thank you to Pedro, Elena and Claudia!"
