"The staff was fantastic. It was all very newly renovated and so charming . The location was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It did have many steps which may not work for elderly or disabled, however staff carried luggage for us. They were wonderful and I definitely enjoy this place again !"

"We had a wonderful time in Kottli. The houses are charming and well maintained. I did read a review before we went there complaining about the cleanliness of the property, but whoever wrote that probably doesn't live in the countryside. We found it perfectly clean for a rural property and Sanja who looks after the property was very nice and friendly. Great place to stay if you don't want to be in the tourist hot spots! "

"The apartment was over three floors with steep steps (not good for anyone with mobility issues) in an old building. The place is full of character and worldly charm however it is, by definition really, quite old feeling. The bathroom consisted of an enclosed shower that was tiny (anyone of a larger build simply wouldn't be able to use it so be warned!) but otherwise we had a lovely stay"

"I have never stayed in this type of property. I usually pick a known hotel brand because I know what to expect but I’m so happy I didn’t. We were greeted by the owners with a welcome drink, snacks, and kindness. We sat and talked while they checked us in and then showed us to our room and talked about their amenities. They have a beautiful property that has a pool where you can lay out, a little self service bar, a cute sitting area, a garden where they use to make breakfast. Our room had a...

"Wir waren 1 Woche mit 2 Erwachsenen und 3 Kindern in dem Ferienhaus. Das Haus bietet für 5 Personen ausreichend Platz. Mit mehr als 5 Personen wird es in der Essküche evtl. etwas eng. Der Poolbereich ist super. Die Vermieter haben uns ganz neue Liegen hingestellt. Wir haben Gabriel von der Vermieterfamilie kennengelernt. Er hat uns das Haus gezeigt etc. Sehr nett. Von den Vermietern bekommt man ansonsten nichts mit. Am Meer ist man in ca. 30-35 Minuten."

She lives next door so is on hand for any issues that arise. She doesn’t speak much English but we got by using hand gestures and Google Translate. " Beautiful hotel, all rooms are facing the coast. Swimming pool with warm sea water is excellent. Parking is little bit outside of the hotel and might not have enough space. Walking distance to both Portoroz and Piran. The only complaint is no air conditioning in October. It is still warm during the day. Open windows work at night. "

"I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. I wanted to stay in Piran but choose this hotel initially for two reasons: (a) it was walking distance along a promenade to Piran and offered free parking; and (b) it would be staying in a slice of history as the form of the hotel (though not the renovated interiors) harked back to the more brutalist days of the Yugoslav Republic. Then I got there - the staff were unfailingly lovely; the room was big (after several days of tiny rooms); each room has an expansive sea view; the breakfast was out of this world; and it was a beautiful promenade in front of the hotel along the sea. It was really a singular experience and one of the reasons that Piran was a highlight of the trip. My mother (70 yo) felt very poorly on the last night of the trip and was quite ill during the night. As we didn't have to leave to go to the airport until 4pm, I requested a late-check out. Not only did they give my mother the room until 4pm, but they didn't accept extra payment for the additional time in the room. Honestly I can't recommend this hotel more highly!"
