A beautiful cosy stay. The host has set up the place perfectly with everything you need. We arrived to a warm cosy home. In a great location, not too far from Buxton, Bakewell, Mam Tor etc. Beautiful views and absolutely quiet. Very well maintained property with no hassle at all. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A perfect little cottage, gorgeous views, close to Buxton and Chatsworth. (I can recommend the bookshop/cafe down the road too!)

We had a lovely time at Poppies Court.
We had a lovely time at Poppies Court. The cottage is small and cosy which was perfectly adequate for our family of 4. The main positive was the simply beautiful location and being able to walk straight from the cottage into beautiful surroundings using private footpaths. The cottage was warm and very clean and a great central base for visits to Buxton, Bakewell, Chatsworth and Alton Towers. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This cottage has the most amazing views.
This cottage has the most amazing views. Fantastic for watching sunset. There was a musky smell particularly in the twin bedroom - assume this was lack of use due to the current pandemic. There were no instructions for operating the TV and Fire (both remotely controlled). Took us 3 days to work out where the hidden switches were for the fire. Maybe these instructions could be put on a laminated sheet. Will definitely be going back to the Peak District and would happily rebook this cottage. Beautiful location, but a little cramped for 3 adults (very small dining-table).
Beautiful location, but a little cramped for 3 adults (very small dining-table). Given the COVID crisis some equipment had been removed (we had to ask for a cafetiere and there wasn't enough washing-up liquid for a week, given that we were not eating out). However the owner was very helpful. The internet is fairly slow, but we expected this. All-in-all a delightful holiday in a beautiful location Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Comfortable and cosy cottage lacking for nothing and with great views.
Comfortable and cosy cottage lacking for nothing and with great views. A bit isolated for amenities such as shop and pub/restaurants. Steps into cottage difficult for a disabled person having to use a walking stick. Grab rails in the shower would be very useful as far as safety is concerned.

I've been holidaying in the Peak District for over 50 years and in recent years many times to Jerico Farm. I find Earl Sterndale an excellent base, it's convenient for visiting all that Derbyshire has to offer and the views from Poppies Court are fantastic. The cottage is well appointed with all you need and you can be assured of the warmest of welcomes from Barbara. With such a lovely setting and so many superb walks close by, this location is difficult to beat. I hope to return again soon.

Fantastic cottage in a quiet and secluded location.
Fantastic cottage in a quiet and secluded location. We stayed with children, aged 7 and 8, they loved the views and going for walks up the road to the village. Plenty to do within a 30 minute drive. Cottage was clean and had everything that we needed during our stay. Fantastic friendly hosts.

We had a lovely week using Poppies Court as a base to tour The Peak District.
We had a lovely week using Poppies Court as a base to tour The Peak District. The accommodation is comfortable and cosy. Cool on hot days and warm on cold days. The kitchen is very well equipped and welcome tray was there on our arrival. The views are stunning from the main bedroom. We were just 2 adults, it would be very snug with 4 adults, probably ideal for a family with 2 children.

Poppies Court was well situated, well equipped and comfortable.
Poppies Court was well situated, well equipped and comfortable. The setting is lovely, with great views around. Although the flat is small, it was perfectly fine for a short stay. If there are four of you, you will need to move the dining table to all sit round it. Poppies is near a road but there is no traffic noise. We were however disturbed by early risers in the flat above, who were moving around at 7am. WiFi works but is a bit temperamental - you might need to turn your device off and on a few times. There is a pub in the village, but it doesn’t serve food. However, there are some very good pubs for food a short drive away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Poppies, although if you can book the flat above it, that might be better.

We had a lovely holiday but if you go there just got hiking you need a good weather. The cottage is very well equipped, plenty of things to visit around the cottage location. Shopping can be down in Buxton. The host is a lovely lady. We are looking forward to traveling to Peak District again.

An exceptionally comfortable, warm cottage.
An exceptionally comfortable, warm cottage. My bedroom had the two windows with magnificent views across the dales. We came because we had never been to this area before and found it to be all we had imagined. Little touches like milk in the fridge, flowers on the table, just made it so welcoming. A very peaceful, restful holiday. The bookshop on the corner was a great find!
