As we were only a couple we were paying a premium, better value for a family. Gardens surrounded the property with plenty of choice of seating, weather permitting."

"The property was well equiped for holiday requirements. Local village has what you need. The bakery was nice for fresh croissants and baguettes. Also a small intermarche within walking distance which was handy. Plenty to do in the area, château's, caves etc. We particularly liked the Base de Loisirs de Rouffiac, which is a lake with beach and plenty of activities, kayaking, swimming, water ski park, tree park with zip lines, high wire bridges etc and it had different levels of difficulty...

The house is in a quiet rural location but close to Excideuil (we recomend the market) and Brantome for kayaking. "This gite has everything you could need and more from a lovely pool to an outdoor gas barbecue and an (indoor) air fryer. Julia and her family made us all feel really welcome, lots of helpful advice and communication. The only thing we’d change was the weather! Such a shame and meant we didn’t make as much use of the fab pool as we’d hoped. Other than that - perfect!"

"Sometimes it really does pay off to go somewhere which is just a little further away from motorways, big cities etc. This house is truly relaxing and quiet. And yet, there are plenty of towns, markets, swimming lakes etc within a 10-15 kilometre distance. We travelled with our three kids and had such a great time - playing games, taking little trips to nearby swimming lakes, and barbecuing into the night.
