We recently stayed at the The Sebel, Busselton. Whilst the hotel facilities ie pool, spa, squash courts were good and the gardens well maintained, I can't say the same for the Accommodation. Considering the dollar value charged, what is being offered is not on par of where it should be and what is photographed in promotional material.
On our first evening, the BBQ ignition didn't work. No gas lighter or matches in room. Reception unable to assist. Outdoor BBQ light didn't work. Whole area of patio could do with a scrub down and spray for spiders and insects, inside the premises as well. Peg basket full of broken pegs and cloths line covered in webs along with the outdoor setting.
Inside, blinds in master and loft bedroom broken. Couch so uncomfortable one is almost unable to sit on it. Airconditioning in lounge didn't work. Initially, we couldnt get the TV in lounge to work til we worked out that the remotes for master bedroom and lounge had been swapped. Towels supplied were appalling and need to be binned along with the dirty rug in lounge room. The whole unit did not feel clean and was notable on surfaces such as dining and outdoor table. No cleaning supplies in kitchen. For a unit that sleeps 6, there are two wine glasses and two glass tumblers. Several mis-matched coffee mugs supplied are chipped. Need to get rid of the 1980s style cup and saucers that nobody uses and supply decent coffee mugs. Also no compendium for facilites within Unit or grounds.
Loft room bedroom wardrobe, the wire drawers are unable to be used as they don't pull out. Fridge temperature was not particularly cold and had to be continually adjusted.
When we tried to book a squash court, we were told that as the Unit was privately owned it couldn't be done. How the internal workings between privately controlled rooms and Sebel owned rooms shouldn't be a consideration or concern for a paying guest.
In all, the Unit needs a deep clean and a clean out as currently it is not the standard it should be.
