Summary:
Nestled in the vibrant Old North End of Burlington, this bright 2nd-floor apartment offers a cozy and centralized home base. Revel in luxury bedding with blackout curtains at night and wake to a spacious, fully-equipped kitchen for breakfast. Step outside to explore charming and quirky local eateries or venture downtown (¾ mile), UVM (1 mile) waterfront park (1.4 mile), or anywhere in the Champlain Valley. Welcome!
The Space:
The apartment is located on the second floor of a historic duplex built in 1885. Entry into the apartment is by a flight of steps from the driveway onto a fully enclosed three-season porch overlooking the yard and greenspace beyond. The kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need for cooking, including high quality knives, pots/pans, cutting boards and tools. The large living room has high ceilings (like the rest of the apartment) and a wall of windows overlooking the street and neighborhood beyond. Made up of a cozy sitting area and a dining area, there's space for all your activities. There are three bedrooms, each equipped for a super comfortable night's rest.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to a full 3-bedroom apartment on the upper level of a duplex. 2 doors provide private access with secure keycodes provided to each guest.
Other Things to Note:
- Please note that this neighborhood is lively! This is a well-traveled street through the vibrant, historic "Old North End" of Burlington. Neighbors sometimes play music during the day and families of many cultures can be seen (and heard!). The downstairs neighbors respect quiet hours from 10pm - 8am, but you will likely hear their lively children during daytime hours. The general neighborhood also seems to quiet down at night, but be warned - this is not the place for daytime sleeping!
- The apartment is on the second floor. If you aren't comfortable walking up a flight of steps, this is not a good choice.
- This charming house was built in 1885. You'll notice some floors are not completely level (thought the beds and furniture are level!).
- The driveway is shared with the downstairs long-term tenant. He parks tightly to the right so you can squeeze by on the left and use the remainder of the driveway for 1-2 cars. It is not spacious, and you'll need to drive carefully. If you have a very wide car, you may need to contact me in advance to coordinate. You are also welcome to park on the street, but parking is limited in the area so you'll probably find the driveway much more convenient.
Interaction with Guests:
Guests will self-check-in with electronic locks and won't see the hosts unless we're needed. However, we're local to the area always available by app/phone/text if problems or questions come up and in-person if you have an issue that needs us.
