"We were expecting a simple, quiet cabin in the woods for a brief get away. Although listings often use flowery adjectives like luxurious and cozy, this one was truly a standout. High-end kitchenware, unique and regionally appropriate decor and art, leather furniture, a Pendleton wool blanket for the couch and so much more made us immediately feel like a welcomed guest at a friend’s home. It was perfect!"

"We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was cute and cozy, perfect for my husband and me. There is a nice deck to star gaze or sit in the sunshine. "I have nothing but gushing reviews for my Makanda Cabin stay. The cabin was easy to navigate to. When I opened the door I found a clean, comfortable, well appointed place, with two good size bedrooms, living room with fireplace, a bathroom stocked with plenty of towels and soap. There was a basket full of treats on the kitchen table. Hangers were in the closets, luggage rack and lots of shelves to organise wedding and hiking clothing. I could truly relax there. "This place was perfect for our weekend stay. The cabin was clean and cozy, thought it could be buggy due to the location but not one in sight. We used the pullout couch bed which was good for our needs but the mattress is thin so it was helpful we brought a second comforter to add more cushioning. Also, the host was very attentive and responsive. Place had everything we needed and I would definitely stay again! "

"My husband and I recently were in Southern Illinois for a few days celebrating our daughter's birthday. She is enrolled at SIU, Carbondale. We had a wonderful time visiting the wineries in the area, hiking and biking. The cabin was absolutely perfect and we had everything we needed and more. We found the cabin conveniently located to the activities we wanted to engage in. We were impressed with how clean the cabin was and would absolutely stay there again!...in fact we just recommended to family...
