Wonderful stay in Abruzzo
We had a wonderful time at Casa Rosa. It was easy to check in, clean and really beautiful. Joanna was great at communication and responsive to needs. She had a lot of great suggestions! She suggested the artichoke festival in Prezza and it was a highlight of our trip!

Superb
We've just got home after a really good stay at Casa Rosa and we can't recommend the place enough. Casa Rosa itself is set in a very quiet part of the village and we had a really peaceful, quiet atmosphere. The property has everything you need to unwind and relax and several outdoor spaces to escape from, or enjoy the sun! The village itself is lovely and the locals are very friendly, kind and polite. We enjoyed days out in surrounding villages and towns, there are too many nice ones to name individually but we particularly enjoyed Scanno, Pacentro and Sulmona.Abruzzo really is a beautiful region and we will definitely return to this property. Thanks again Joanna and family you are great hosts! Arriverderci Paul Nicky and Isabel

Great base for the Abruzzo & Maiella National Parks
The drives to villages such as Pacentro and Pescocostanza are spectacular, especially if you're not having to do the driving yourself! There's a nice bar in Bugnara and it's easy to get into Sulmona. The house is comfortable and has everything you need.

Amazing!!
Casa Rosa was incredible!! The hosts, Joanna and Dave, were so helpful and their communication with us was exceptional. I would stay at Casa Rosa again in a minute!! The property itself was in such a great location, so close to a major city like Sulmona, but very peaceful and quiet. Enjoying a glass of vino on the rooftop terrace while watching the sunset behind the mountains was a definite highlight of our trip!! Thanks Joanne and Dave!

Wonderful stay at Casa Rosa
Casa Rosa exceeded our expectations. The inside is cosy and comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable bed. We enjoyed spending time in each of the three outdoor areas. The roof terrace was perfect for eating in the evening as the sun went down over the valley. The garden area was a perfect space for daily yoga. Parking was good and easily accessible. Casa Rosa provided an ideal base for walking from the door and in the local area. It was easy to drive to Sulmona and explore the town and enjoy its cafes, history and market. Communication from Joanna was exemplary being detailed, timely and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Away from the crowds
Off the main tourist beat in a quiet little village. Easy access to many wonderful places but only if you have a car. The village itself is very quiet with just a few facilities - bar, small food store, pharmacy - but only a 15min drive to the large town of Sulmona which has all you need and a great market on Wednesday and Saturdays. The house is comfortable, with a couple of lovely outdoor areas for the warmer weather. Bedrooms and bathroom are on the first floor accessible only by a narrow spiral staircase - tricky for anyone with mobility issues.

Fantastic stay
We had a lovely stay at Casa Rosa as part of our trip round Italy. The house felt like a home away from home with everything we needed. Great swimming at Scanno Lake and at the beach, which was worth the drive. Fantastic mountain walking nearby. Nearby Sulmona was lovely and had great amenities. Local pizza restaurant serving really good and very reasonably priced food. We would definitely stay again if we cane back to the region. Thank you!

Accomodation at Casa Rosa, Bugnara
Casa Rosa proved to be a home away from home. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We made good use of the outdoor spaces for breakfast, lunch and drinks at sundown - the view was spectacular. The house was nicely furnished, comfortable bed and great warm showers. Jo had 2 of everything!! The home was perfectly located to explore the Abruzzo region. Jo’s recommendations on restaurants and info on towns and villages was invaluable. We definitely picked a good home, a beautiful village in a spectacular region.

Lovely villa in a quiet village
The property was very well equipped and comfortable. The roof terrace was lovely in the evening. Village was very quiet and gave easy access to various places to visit. The booking process for this villa was incredibly efficient as the owner responded very promptly on all occasions and provided lots of useful information. The villa also had lots of information and maps, guide books etc which was extremely helpful. If I have one criticism it's the shower. A shower screen or deeper shower tray would be useful.

What a terrific house
What a terrific house- everything here that we needed. Despite a mass of plans . . . we read our books, drank lovely wine and cooked with lovely local fresh ingredients. We are so sure we missed a lot, though managed a few spectacular trips. Sadly, the roof terrace baited us back! Dave, Jo and Fay, the work you have done here is terrific and gardens are coming along beautifully.

Beautiful villa in a beautiful place
We returned from Italy last night having had a lovely holiday. We really enjoyed staying in your cottage, so well appointed we couldn't have wished for more. The villagers were so friendly and we made a few trips to Ginos Bar and to the little supermarket. The surrounding countryside was magnificent and we found the villages so interesting. We shall have very fond memories of Abruzzo. It has been a joy getting to know you and your cottage and, hopefully, we shall return sometime to do some more exploring. By the way your directions were fantastic. We really appreciated all the time and trouble you had taken to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. Best wishes to you all for the furture.

Highly recommended!!!
This house is nestled in the pictureque village of Bugnara - a beautiful mountain village with very friendly inhabitants. In Bugnara we found a nice bar with WIFI, Pizza take out and a supermarket. The village is very close to the city of Sulmona, which is lovely for walking around and having an eleaborate dinner. What we enjoyed most were the three outdoor seating possibilities. We especially enjoyed the one in the garden. Just outside the front door on the way to the car park is a breathtaking view of the mountains. The beds are wonderfully comfortable with really soft & cozy sheets we slept an hour longer every day just because it was so comfortable. The kitchen has everything one needs. We even cooked and ate in on two of the four nights we were there because the house is just so comfortable. Jo the owner is so very friendly and really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She provided us with all the information we needed for having an amazing holiday in this stunningly beautiful part of Italy. We loved it so much we might have to come back next year! Do yourself a favor and stay here!!!

Very peaceful cottage
Set in the lower part of an historic village, this lovely cottage has the benefit of a shaded garden, sunny patio and sun deck, ideal for the hot weather we encountered. The thick stone walls ensured that the cottage did not get to hot, though the electric fans helped for a while at night. There were few occupied neighbouring properties and we rarely saw or heard people going past on the paths around the cottage. It was peaceful even though it is only a hew hundred meters up any one of the many stepped paths to get to the village centre. The cottage is exactly as described - comfortable and cosy, well equipped though the spiral staircase was a bit of a challenge for getting luggage up and down. Car parking was easy - most of the time ours was the only car in a very large space. The most we saw was three cars there. Joanna is a superb host. She established contact well before our arrival so that we were clear about the check in arrangements and provided us with very clear instructions on how to find the car park and the cottage. We had an excellent stay.

Beautiful, comfortable and picturesque!
It started with a New Year's Wish that my husband and I shared, to visit Italy and reconnect with the place that my great-grandparents left years ago. That place was Abruzzo. Each of them from a medieval village not far from one another. We needed a convenient comfortable location to use as the base for our explorations. With a map in one hand and stars in our eyes, we searched the internet for a rental. One that would have a beautiful garden, for me, the painter, and a roof top terrace for my husband, the amateur astronomer. Through Google Search we found the Casa Rosa and it met both the requirements, not only that, but it's name was 'Rosa', my sister and grandmother's name. It was a good omen. We connected with its owner, Joanna Mundy, to make an inquiry and found, to our delight, a kind, patient and helpful person who guided us through our first trip across Italy. She helped us in every aspect of our trip, providing us with maps and detailed information about our drive to the Casa Rosa and the conveniences found in Sulmona, a larger city a few miles away. We did have a TIM card that through Google Maps helped with our navigation through Abruzzo, but nothing beat actual knowledge of the area. For that, Joanna proved invaluable. She answered our questions quickly, so that not a minute of our one week trip was wasted. The Casa Rosa, itself, is a beautifully restored home with everything you need to make your vacation a good one, at any time of year. Bugnara, a picturesque village with ancient alleys, staircases and churches was a joy to explore. The only thing that could have made our vacation better was to have arranged for a longer stay! Thanks so much, Joanna, we can hardly wait to return!
