Wonderful in so many ways!
First off, the hosts were incredibly charming and accommodating. It was easy to book the place from oversees per money wire. Mr. Braendle responded to emails basically immediately. All transactions worked out without a hitch.
As we got there, we got a personal welcome from Ms. Braendle. She was so kind to pick us up in a private car when we arrived during an unusally heavy snowstorm. The next day we could drive our own vehicle right to the house because the snowplows worked all night to clear the roads. No problems at all from then on!
The setting was absolutely stunning with its surrounding peaks. Views of rugged high mountains galore! The community on the Tschengla plateau, where the house is located, was personable and real. For example, the resident neighbors in the house welcomed us immediately upon arrival. Noticing a barn with dairy cows just a few houses down the mountain we knocked and asked for fresh milk, which we could purchase for a few Euros and take with us in our own thermos-- so cool!
There were diverse opportunities to recreate right from the door: cross-country skiing (freshly groomed skate and classic tracks), backcountry skiing, alpine skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing. The local ski lift was 3 minutes via skis downhill from the house (and we were lucky enough to ski freshies every day). There were 3 restaurants within walking distance but we also made many home cooked meals because the apartment was stocked with plenty of kitchen equipment.
The apartment was super quiet to rest and recover from all of the skiing. The WLAN (German for WIFI) was fast enough to stream movies at night. In sum, we LOVED it there. I could not have imagined a better vacation rental and my expectations were overwhelmingly exceeded.
Thank you Familie Braendle!
