Hotel is closed permanently
I arrived to find the hotel had converted to apartments 1 month earlier. I 'm currently trying to get a refund from Expedia which is proving difficult.

Cold and impersonal dormitory in Villa Crespo
The ambience of this place is decidedly institutional, somewhere between hospital, dormitory and Bulgarian prison block. Staff is semi-surly, the single elevator is molasses-slow, and the included "breakfast" is two (admittedly tasty) croissants in a bag left suspended on your doorknob. Definitely not recommended.

Reception is not 24hs.Staff kept me 20 min out the locked door on the 16/4, 3am. Room and bathroom had a dirty smell.

Clean budget hotel, poor wifi
Room was spacious and well-equipped; we even had a kitchenette. Bed was comfortable, clean, and larger than expected (king size). Air-conditioning worked well. Croissants in the morning were tasty and left outside your door. Overall, the value you got for your money was great. Wifi, however, was completely unusable in room. We only stayed one night because of this issue. It is also on a noisy intersection traffic-wise, so if you are a light sleeper this could be an issue for you.

Friendly, modern hotel
After a long day of cancelled flights, I got to the hotel much later than anticipated. The initial reaction to the place was how friendly the front desk employee was, and how clean and modern the lobby and room were. The room was spacious and comfortable. Only complaint was the wifi signal was weak. I'm sure some people won't like the breakfast, but I thought it was very nice to have medialunas (pastries) delivered to my door in the morning. If you want a full service breakfast, I guess go somewhere else.

Great staff
It's a good small, clean, well located hotel. Encountered minor issues during my stay (towels not replaced, heat not working well in room) but the staff resolved everything promptly. The breakfast is coffee from the coffeemaker in the room plus two croissants delivered to your door at 8 am. There is no restaurant on site nor is there a place where breakfast is served. There are multiple small coffee shops in the area and the subway is a 5 min walk. I stayed at a room facing the street and I was able to sleep,( no loud music past 11pm-12 am) but the walls are paper thin and I could hear everything going on in the room beside me. Overall, it's a decent hotel if you need to be in that area of the city and the staff do a lot to accommodate you.

Nice little hotel
This is a very nice clean hotel in a quiet, but not boring, neighborhood. Good restaurants and shopping nearby. Plus, the rooms are quite spacious, which can be rare in Buenos Aires. The AC was excellent (a must during the humid summer months!) as well as the Wi-Fi. The hotel is in Villa Crespo, which is a little bit out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the hotels in San Nicolas, 9 de Julio and Av. Santa Fe, which was a pleasant change of pace. TWO THUMBS UP!

Modern, affordable hotel in a safe area.
I would highly recommend Pop Hotel, I had a wonderful experience there. I was a young female travelling on my own to South America so I was a little nervous about which area and which hotel to stay in so I did a lot of research before choosing Pop. The street is fairly quiet but in a nice way not a scary way. There is a mini supermarket next door which sells all the essentials, plus one night I didn't want to go out by myself so the staff ordered me a pizza right to my room! I found that the staff at Pop were always accommodating and helpful and ready to make recommendations if you needed them. They also had excellent English which was a huge bonus as my Spanish is poor. The area is just on the fringe of Palermo and Villa Crespo and the hotel is surrounded by outlet shopping, which I loved! It's also only 4 blocks (10 minute walk) away from the subway station, Malabia, and this area also has many more cafes, a bigger supermarket, shops and a pharmacy. I felt completely safe walking around this area and at night the taxis were very cheap, from San Telmo (on the other side of the city) to outside the front door for only $10USD! The room was very modern and much more than I expected for such a cheap rate. It was really big and had a huge wrap around deck with nice views and excellent air conditioning. One of the only things I would improve about the room would be the lighting, as there wasn't a ceiling light but I didn't really have a problem with this.

Too good to be true...
For the price, my expectations were significantly more modest, but I was very pleasantly surprised. First, despite arriving at 5am (the red-eye landed at 4am), the night watch, while initially scrambling a bit to figure it out, found my reservation, which was set aside, and showed me to my room. Room was renovated with a fresh feel, spotless, and extraordinarily spacious. Location a bit outside of Palermo, but you're there within a 5-min walk. Breakfast is 2-3 scrumptious medialunas (croissants) on the door handle at 8am + make your own coffee in the room. Good enough in my book. For me, hotels are only for sleep, shower/bathroom and headquarters for the out-and-about, not for wasting time and more money on superfluous amenities. Pop Hotel was all that and then some.

Nice hotel and easy reach to different places
The hotel is close to shopping outlets, restaurants and supermarkets. Not very far to undergrounds (suite). The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel was more oriented towards young people.

Decent, but room for improvement
Initial room was very nice, but ac was busted and i had to change rooms. Staff was pretty accomodating, in putting me in new room, but didnt have towels delivered until i made a third request at main desk. Shower flooded the bathroom floor due to faulty design, and staff didnt seem to care. They just said "that's normal". This would have flooded entire bedroom with a half hour of showering. Ovrall hotel was comfortable, but could be better. Would be nice if they had snacks and beverages for purchase. There's not even a vending machine. Staff did speak English very well, which was great as I dont know Spanish.

A sort of high-end hostel
It is amazing what you get in this hotel for such a low price. It does not have any on premises food service, but it does not matter anyway. The staff conduct and attitude are comparable to 3 or 4 stars hotels; they are helpful, supportive, orientative, formal and kind, concerned about guest needs. We arrived late in the night, the front-desk guy (Nicolas) had our Expedia reservation ready for check-in and it took no more minutes than filling in our guest registration forms. Rooms are ample, clean, everything looks brand new. Bed and bedding are comfortable. I would enhance the room lighting, specially over the desk and bed area.
