I arrived at the address given by the host and it was the wrong location. I sent him a message and after 25 mins he responded to tell me I had to travel 10 mins to meet him to collect the keys.
As I picked up the keys he told me there water had been turned off but should be on when I return to the unit.
The water was off for 2 full days then on and off for 2 more days. We could not even flush to toilet.
We also lost all the power in the unit on the 4th day.
I realize that there were water shortages on the island. However, the building next to us had water and they told us that historically our building often has this problem since they have not paid for holding tanks that would mitigate this problem.
The host did offer to move us to another apartment. However, I specifically chose this place as was close to the beach and we were vacation with another family which we wanted to be close to. Furthermore, the alternate location was 25 mons away and nowhere near the beach.
The question remains is why the host would rent the unit if the knew before hand that the water supply is a problem.
On top of all this the cooking hob was wired incorrectly and when you touched it with wet hand it shocked you.
I strongly believe that this poor service should justify a substantial refund.
