"Beautiful location, chocolate box pretty. Well appointed hotel with comfortable rooms, good menu and friendly staff. Only criticism would be that service was a little slow, but the food was good once it came. Would stay again. "

"I loved this hotel. Its quirky, but in a lovely way. And i was lucky to be upgraded, so i had a suite with a separate shower room and a roll top bath. The selection of wines/drinks/snacks in the room were of good quality, and whilst i did not consume, due to work commitments, i would in the future. The restaurant attached served lovely, locally sourced food at a reasonable price. And the location of the hotel meant you were walking distance into town, and 20 minutes walk from the train...

"We have been to The Cotswolds many times, but this is the first time staying at the Prince of Burford. We were made very welcome from the beginning and was even offered a complimentary drink on arrival, which you don’t get in all hotels. Room was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. "It was an intriguing building. Rooms well furnished and heated. The staff were very helpful and friendly. BUT not a suitable place for elderly or those with mobility problems. An outside flight of stairs, which could be slippery in wet weather, led to first floor and then more internal steep stairs our room. There were no grab rails in the shower. "We stayed as a relatively young couple for our first trip to the Cotswolds. The inn was lovely and cosy, particularly with the fire in the pub area of the inn. "Generally good but the loud humming was irritating and may affect all rooms? Air conditioning for a ground floor Beer Keg store? fortunately ended 10pm in Winter but wondering re Summer or even Spring or Autumn. "Fantastic place to stay. We had two suites for relatives who were visiting Cheltenham. Both suites were spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. Milk and juice in the fridge was a really nice touch. Plenty of towels with robes and slippers too. The team I spoke to were all really helpful. Can thoroughly recommend this place. "

"The location of the property was perfect to visit other areas of the Cotswolds. The property was quiet and had everything you needed to make it feel like home. The beds were so comfortable and have never slept so well. It was peaceful and relaxing and was lovely to hear the church bells even through the night. The location was ideal to explore and walk around the village and countryside. Would stay here again and highly recommend."

"Our Christmas stay at the Welcombe Hotel was a nice break. The mansion is stunning, set in 157 acres of beautiful grounds, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot deer roaming around. The spa was good to have—the indoor pool, Swedish sauna, and outdoor vitality pool made for a nice way to unwind, and the thermal rooms were a nice touch. A very big shoutout to Sara and Muhammed, who were incredibly helpful and always welcoming. Their service really stood out. Breakfast was OK-ish—not bad, but nothing special. Christmas lunch, on the other hand, was disappointing—it felt like a missed opportunity given how nice everything else was. The bar had a good atmosphere, and I liked the local wine, but the overall drinks selection could have been better. Overall, despite the food not being great, the Welcombe Hotel was a lovely Christmas getaway—a beautiful setting, good service, and a peaceful place to relax."
