Cozy cottage!

Stay at "Sunset" cabin

Had a great stay at the cabin. The location was perfect and everything inside the cabin was great. We really enjoyed the views and the firepit and our boys loved the game room. Close to Bryson city and the Deep creek area of GSM. Highly recommend!

Amazing Stay

Living and vacationing in cities does not prepare you for the peace of mind and joy that comes from staying at Settler’s Mountain. This is the kind of place that will draw you back for more. The rentals are prepared for a very comfortable stay and I’ll definitely find my way back with more family to share this paradise with.

Excellent stay

We had an excellent stay over the 4th of July weekend. Location is very close to pop into Bryson City and quickly get down to Nantahala for rafting, while also being convenient to the National Park. Cabin had everything we needed and was very clean. Beautiful sunsets from the porch!

Sunset cabin

This was our second visit to Bryson City and our second time staying in the Sunset cabin. The location is great, weather you want to visit the sounding towns, drive the Blue Ridge or find a quiet place to hike. The cabin and grounds are very clean and well maintained.

Beautiful mountain getaway

Our 3 days at the Sunset cabin were so enjoyable! It was cozy with everything we needed and located near all the attractions that we had planned to visit. I especially enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. We hope to return next fall!!

Sunset Cabin is perfectly named.

The remote mountain community was picture perfect and our beautiful blue cabin was fully remodeled and very cozy. We hated to leave.

Fun at The Sunset

My son and his 2 kids joined me at beautiful Settlers Mountain for a 3 night stay. The cabin was clean and the space was comfortable. I enjoyed waking up and looking out at the humming birds on the feeder. Having a cup of coffee on the front porch before everyone else got up was very relaxing. We all looked forward to the evening sunsets . The kids loved the rec room and taking walks on the lovelyproperty. I will be going back.

This was perfect. Great view, stock with necessities, and clean!! I would not recommend if you need to park a large trailer due to limited parking space. We had to drop our trailer elsewhere but loved the house.

Perfectly Perfect

I and my nephew, and his wife and daughter stayed at the Sunset cabin and it was a perfect "home" base for outdoor adventure -- close to Bryson City and the Nantahala gorge. The cabin is well maintained and clean as a whistle. It was well-appointed with everything we needed in the kitchen and bath. The furnishings were comfortable and the owners supplied ample towels, linens, pillows and blankets. Situated on a mountainside, the cabin has plenty of privacy and breath-taking views of the smokies. The sunset was spectacular, but so was watching the morning mist rise off the mountains. You have never seen such a profusion and variety of birds visiting the front porch feeders. There are six houses on the Settler's Mountain property, with most built by the Kraft family and lovingly tended over the years. The landscaping alone beats any rental property in the area. This cabin exceeded our expectations.

Almost Perfect!

My wife and I along with Bella our fur baby spent over a week at ‘Sunset’. Perfect cabin for the 3 of us. It was very clean, well stocked and cozy. Great views and sunsets from our porch. The owner Kevin was friendly and welcoming. I titled this review ‘almost’ perfect just because of some noisy neighbors on the outside of this property with their constantly barking dogs and dirt bikes which was beyond the control of Kevin. Sunset is tucked away in the Settler’s Mountain with a private driveway. It is not too far away from the surrounding attractions and trails. Thank you Kevin for allowing us to stay in your property.

Sunset Serenity

Our stay at this Sunset Cabin exceeded our expectations. We spent every evening on the porch watching the sunset sink into the mountain. Just after dark the firefly's would begin flashing all around; owls would hoot through the forest far into the night. In the mornings we sat in the wooden rocking chairs and drank coffee on the porch as the sun was rising, listening to cardinals, hummingbirds and songbirds greet the day in song. On my walks with our dogs I saw snakes sunning themselves and a box turtle making his way along the grass. It is a little slice of mountain serenity. The contactless check-in makes it feel as if it's all your own. The home and kitchen are well equipped and we didn't need to bring anything except our personal items. The host provides a separate facility on the property where guests can do laundry. They also have a selection of books to enjoy along with DVDs and games. I read a novel from their shelf, and utilized a local history/travel guide from the library during our stay. We highly recommend this location.
