--The Chalet--
Buffalo Creek Chalet is a rustic Swiss-style chalet high on our private 40-acre ridge at 2,600 feet elevation. As you drive in through the paved, winding road through a natural forest canopy you will feel as though you have truly disappeared in to the wilderness. Local hemlock wood exterior blends the Lodge into its natural forest canopy. Comfortable furnishings, antique pine and cypress flooring, distinguish the spacious interior throughout. Marvel at the spectacular sunset views of the Smokies from the covered porch and balconies. For an unimpeded view, take a walk down to the fire pit area and relax in the swing or hammocks. It's a real treat!

--The Space--
As you enter the front door you will immediately be taken back in time when unique woods were used to build log cabins. Walk down the long entryway to the open concept living room and kitchen space. The sights, sounds of the floor beneath your feet, and the smell of older wood will enhance the authentic chalet experience relaxing you and placing your mind in "vacation mode." The living room features a large couch and love seat along with a 50" Smart TV; perfect for streaming an evening show or relaxing on a rainy day. The kitchen features a large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and is fully stocked with basic cooking items to prepare a home cooked meal. You will also find a dining room table with seating for 6 persons. Please note there is no working fireplace at this time and is not listed. We will update the listing as soon as we have gas logs installed.
The main level includes a massive bedroom complete with comfy, cooling gel memory foam bedding, plush pillows, closest space for hanging your cloths, and a seating bench; perfect for dressing in the morning. What you see is what you get with us. Comfy down alternative duvets and sheets are always provided. Directly across the hallway you will find the main level bathroom. This full bathroom features a spacious tile shower with a built in bench. A set of bath towels and wash cloths are provided for up to six guests. Complimentary organic shampoo and shower gels are provided for our guests as well!
Head on up the cherry wood staircase to the loft and you will find two additional bedrooms, each with their own private balcony, as well as a full bathroom and small refrigerator in the hallway for your convenience. Loft bedroom #1 features another comfy, cooling gel memory foam king size bedding, closet space, and a small chair for reading or getting dressed in the mornings. Oh and don't forget your very own balcony with rocking chairs overlooking the back yard and Great Smoky Mountains National Park in the distance. Sunsets are amazing from here! Loft bedroom #2 features comfy, gel memory foam Queen sized bedding, a small dresser for your clothes, a chair, and of course your very own private balcony. The balcony is perfect for a morning coffee and reading a book or listening to the birds while the cool morning fog rolls through the valley and past the cabin. The small but efficient bathroom includes a toilet, pedestal sink, stall shower, and some shelving behind the door to store your toiletries throughout your Smoky Mountain stay with us.
Outside you will find several places to escape with ample seating. The front deck includes a couple of benches as well as a separate deck complete with a glass top - wicker furniture dining table with seating for four persons. The back deck is screened-in and features a dining table for four as well as additional comfortable wicker furniture. If you really enjoy relaxing then this will be a great spot for you; especially for the sunsets and rainy days alike. One of my personal favorites! The back yard is small but large enough for the kids to have a place to run around a bit. There is a fire-pit area with a wrought iron table and four chairs for an outdoor lunch. Relax in the swing for two facing the fire pit and long-range views of the Smoky Mountains. Sunsets are amazing from this West facing lawn as well! There are also a couple of hammocks perfect for a post hike or afternoon nap! Another one of my personal favorites. When in the Smokies do as Smoky would do; be a lazy bear:)
