The space
We're very excited to welcome guests to The Iron House Apartments - Hurdley Heights!
The property has recently been renovated to create several holiday apartments and we have aimed to keep the history of the building alive, treasure it, if you will.
There is artwork on display from local artists, these are available to purchase if you fancy a local souvenir!
As you enter the apartment you are greeted with the lounge. The beams still remain and are a features I genuinely love! There is a smart TV. You are welcome to use Netflix and other streaming apps, if you have accounts for these. There is also a sofa bed, that can be made into a double bed, meaning that the apartment sleeps 4 people in total.
Moving from the lounge into the kitchen. This features many amenities, electric oven and hob, fridge with small freezer.
Smaller appliances include a microwave, toaster, kettle, and Tassimo coffee machine.
There is a shared Laundry room for guests on the rear terrace with a washing machine, sink, and tumble dryer.
In the kitchen, there is a breakfast bar for two people, ideal for light meals and socialising while cooking.
There is also a stylish dining room for four people, perfect for when you want a sit down meal and a chat about your day.
The bedroom features a lovely super king-sized bed. There is the option to have this set up as two singles, please do let us know ahead of time so that we can prepare the room for your stay. There is plenty of storage space with a wardrobe and shelves.
From the apartment you get a wonderful view of the square.
There is a bathroom, with bathtub, over bath shower, wc and basin.
We encourage you to enjoy the outdoor space. It is shared with other guests within The Iron House Apartments so an opportunity to socialise should you so wish!
Why is Hurdley Heights?
The ironmongery shop was originally owned and run by an Edwin Davis, it was then passed on to his son Walter. Walter, however, had no children and on his death it was left to the person who had been helping him run it – James William Hurdley.
The apartment itself is on the first floor and therefore does require guests to go up a flight of stairs.
We provide complimentary tea and coffee, as well as bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap. Other items provided during your stay are a washing-up pack, toilet roll and kitchen roll. These should last a couple of days. If more is needed, there is a paper shop next door for essentials open every day and Spar is 100yds away.
Please note: There are other guests within the building and we kindly ask that you are respectful when moving around and close doors quietly. Thank you :)
