The large loft has ocean views plus an additional bathroom. Looking for your next vacation read? Browse the home's library, featuring over 500 books. Located just across the California-Oregon border on the Harbor 'bench,' this home is just minutes south of Brookings, which is often referred to as the 'banana belt' of the Oregon Coast. If activity is your goal, you can shop, fish, golf, hike, bike, or walk at many nearby sites. McVay State Recreation Area is a short walk down the street and is set up for disc golf as well as offering access to clamming, beach strolls, and agate, shell, and rock hunting. Hundred-year-old azaleas run throughout Brookings' Azalea Park, just over the bridge that crosses the Chetco, one of Oregon's wild and scenic rivers. Charter fishing excursions are available at the Port of Brookings-Harbor, still an active fishing port. Harris Beach State Park offers a long, sandy walking beach, and at Loeb Park, you can swim, tube on the river, picnic, or hike through ancient redwoods.

Great Location
The house is in a great location. Easy access to Hwy101 to go to Redwood NP or travel the Oregon Coast. There is a small park down the road that gives you access to the beach. The house is very cozy, and the kitchen is great. Not all of the space heaters work, and the outside lights did not work---we reported these issues. Be sure to bring your own blow dryer. The spa was a great place to relax after a long day of driving and hiking and the sound of the waves were a natural sleep inducer.

Bad situation
The first day we had the septic backed up and human waste and toilet paper came up through the downstairs shower drain. The second day it was coming up through the toilet. Management did nothing. The maintenance guy called me and told me this was an issue 2 weeks ago that he told management it needed to be resolved and they did not do it. We left the house with the issue still ongoing. I have pictures of poop and waste all over the downstairs bathroom. Nothing was resolved. We were offered credit for the issues, but we are seeking a refund. This is unacceptable and put our health in jeopardy. We have a 4 month old baby who was there. We just had to keep the door closed and fan on so the smell wouldnt fill the house. It was the worst situation i have ever encountered in rentals. Total BS and this should be resolved asap. Highly do NOT recommend.

Sad property
On arrival - looks deserted; weeds & grass 18 to 24 inches high with blackberries growing up thru shrubs along rail fence in front of deck obstructing about 50% of view. Trimmed on 6th day after loudly complaining to my wife (do the walls have ears???). Covered loveseat in front of TV with a sheet before sitting on it. No way to get shade on deck -- umbrella in garage broken. Deck furniture looks like stolen from a homeless camp. Would have liked a hazmat suit to enter garage. Only two redeeming qualities: 1. Cleaning crew did an admirable job. 2. The view. Spotting scope replaced with binoculars that don't focus. Cable has been deleted and internet quit Friday, so left a day early. Disappointed Vacasa took on this mess.

Wonderful View, cute property
My family and I spent a week at the Harbour House and it was wonderful. You have a beautiful ocean view to gaze out to every morning with your coffee. We slept with the windows open and you can hear the ocean waves which is an added bonus. The house was well equipped and clean which is always nice to check into. Overall great experience.

Property Manager Evaluation
Good news was we never had contact with the property manager. But now that you have forced me to remember: The lock on the front door was changed while we were at the beach and there was no indication to us that this was going to happen or did happen. Took a bit of ingenuity to realize what had happened and re-enter the property.

Family celebration
We spent 5 days celebrating a family member’s birthday. The view was outstanding. No beach access, but a short walk to beach with great tide pools. House was clean. Hot tub was broken during our stay, but we were reimbursed for the inconvenience. Would stay again

Some disappointment
This is the third time we have stayed at the Harbor House and were quite disappointed to learn, just a half hour before arriving that the hot tub was not working. When we arrived, it appeared it had not been working for some time. The other issue was that the internet and wifi were very poor. I come with my daughters and we all have different businesses that we work on while we are there and call it our business retreat. I was told that I would be reimbursed $50/day for the non-working hottub. I wondered how that will be reimbursed. We love the location and everything else about it so if our next trip can be discounted as well, that would be wonderful.

Gorgeous View
This house was adorable, with coastal charm. Many previous reviews mentioned the property being improperly cleaned and a smell- we encountered neither. The house was very clean and there was no bad smell. The king bed in the loft was comfortable, shower a little tight, but there is another bathroom downstairs you can use if it's too small for your liking. The living room furniture is comfy, and the rocking chair is great when turned toward the windows. Nothing better than drinking coffee and watching the waves crash on the rocks. The view, the view, the view! Perfect for remote work with a peaceful, beautiful view (wi-fi is excellent). Close to town and to the Samuel H Boardman Corridor. We would definitely stay here again. Oh, and for the space heaters- make sure you actually turn the temperature to warm, otherwise you'll think they are broken, lol. Lovely, lovely stay.

Family Mini Vacation
the neighborhood is gorgeous , the neighbors were so sweet ❤ the beach just a couple miles away. But the inside of the house smelled like urine i had to buy a candle . The bathrooms were dirty and the blankets smelled . I feel that you need a new housekeeper as your renters pay another of money for cleaning fees. I probably will not rent this house again as I had to re wash the blanket we slept with and wipe stuff down.

Great view but wish there was beach access
My family and I stayed here for three nights. The view is great and the hot tub is nice. The kitchen is fully stocked. Some of the Decour could use a little updating. The main drawback I saw was that there is zero beach access from the house. You have to walk or drive to a local park. There is that musty ocean smell But it didn’t keep us from enjoying ourselves.

Nancy G., Where do you live?

Great view but.....
Wonderful view, everything you need but there was a smell that reminded me of carpets being cleaned to cover something up that was hard to get passed until the house was opened up for a few days. The communication with Vacasa via online was non existent. They did not respond to any email a month prior to check in with questions regarding Covid and if the property was actually available due to state restrictions. We just assumed all was ok and showed up. It really is a beautiful place to relax.
