I have stayed here several times. Normally very good, and I shall still use in the future. This time, however, was a little disappointing.
I rang through to reception at 5:30 PM, as I was cold in my room, as the weather is now clearly into the cold winter mode. I explained I was going out at 7 anyway, but was not sure as to why the radiator was not working. I was informed it operated on a timer, and would come on at 8, but only for 2 hours. I feel the heating, at this time of year, should not be restricted to a mere 2 hours.
I was informed I had a heater fan in the closet, but there was none provided for my room 45. I let that that drop at the time, as I was going out shortly, but I did draw the absence of the fan heater to the attention of the reception as I departed for a few hours. Upon return, no fan heater had been supplied, so I used the extra covers that were supplied within the upper closet. No big deal, but 2 hours at this time of year for automatic heating is insufficent, in my opinion. The room was very clean, and the bed very comfortable. The lovely breakfast is always a nice start to the day, and I really love the place and the staff. Price wise, my rate was very competitive, indeed, substantially less than Hotels literally just up the road. I shall be back, for sure, but the oversight of the fan heater, and the general heating policy in general, took the shine off this particular visit.
