We were just passing through on our way to Cornwall so we only had one night here, and it was lovely. Clean and comfortable accommodations, great food (we had dinner and breakfast), and friendly and hospitable staff.

Property is 300 years old and is a little quirky. Our room was very nice but we had to go thru the restaurant and bar to access a small and steep stairway to reach our room. The food was excellent and service was great.
Great stay. Greeted and shown to our room on arrival. Room a decent size, shower was powerful and bed comfy. Breakfast (included in room rate when we booked) was choice of cereals and then hot food cooked to order - eggs royale was excellent!

We found the room totally unusable and had to leave straight away having only been there for 10 miniutes. The traffic noise was absolutely deplorable right next to a junction on the main road to Bristol/Weston/Churchill. There was no secondary glazing and no hope of any sleep. The staff didn’t seem to know we were booked in at first and could not offer any other room or a refund. We lost a lot of money that night. I would recommend that this place should not be advertising accommodation until they do something about the problem. The staff seemed uninterested.

The hotel is situated on a very busy road and traffic noise was heard most of the night to the extent that the building actually shuddered when heavy lorries passed, ask for a room at the back
Staff and breakfast very good
My wife and I really enjoyed our overnight stay here.Friendlt, welcoming staff.Livelt room. The bar/restaurant are us warm and comfortable.Great choice of food in the menus and very tasty too.Would recommend.
Very friendly and attentive staff, a lot of attention to detail in various things, interesting twists to classic dishes, good variety of meals, good value for money and an overall pleasant stay
We returned following a previous visit because the food was so good and it did not disappoint! We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and it was all delicious. I was very impressed with the choice of gluten free food on offer… I was spoilt for choice which is very unusual. We are already planning to return again.
Really enjoyed our stay. Bedroom large, clean and very comfortable. Biscuits, sweets and peanuts were very welcome. Excellent large clean shower. Breakfast was really good with loads of choice as well. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
Very last minute booking. Only stayed for one night and the room was clean and well appointed. Mattress I would say needs to be replaced and struggled with the wi fi signal. Good breakfast included. Staff friendly and accommodating. Nice open space and river walk close by. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

OK to stay
Friendly helpful staff, very nice breakfast, room itself OK but the mattress needs replacing it was so soft when you sat on it it curled up and wasn't very comfortable for sleeping. There is plenty of free parking, sadly didn't have an evening meal but the menu did look good.
Pleasant stay in a comfortable and well equipped room with good facilities, Breakfast was wholesome and well presented, although the overall restaurant menu was rather limited. Overall good VFM and strategically located for exploring Somerset places of interest.
