Quite a self-contained stay. I received instructions as to how to get to my room which was in the adjoining building to the pub. It was a lovely deluxe room with plenty of space allowing me to get some admin work done beflore relaxing. They had a fridge with plenty of items to choose from for the continental breakfast. The shower was pretty good and the bed very comfortable. There were dining options on site but also other choices not too far away. A very friendly place and great way to spend an overnight stay.
The Anchor inn is a beautiful traditional British inn. The bar is very friendly and the staff are very helpful. There is a good restaurant serving a selection of home cooked snacks and meals. There are 3 rooms for stays with complimentary cold breakfasts. A selection of cereals, yogurts, fruit juice etc. There are toasters in the rooms along with small fridges. The rooms are very pleasant and offer walk in showers, spotless linen and towels, comfortable beds , irons and hairdryers.
We really enjoyed our one night at the Anchor inn and would like to return.
There is free on site car parking, children are welcome. The bedrooms are accessed via an exteria stone stairway.
For the traditional beer drinkers there are several traditional beer and ciders on offer including Bass served by gravity from the barrel
Convenient for my job everything you need stayed before and would stay again

Fabulous pub in a picturesque setting, lovely spacious comfortable room and excellent service and food. Great breakfast provided in the room and a really good evening menu with good wine. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Left email to go to room as pub not open till 6 - fantastic, no mither. Room cosy with a view. In fridge and cupboard had snacks and breakfast items, brilliant. Went down for meal, had lamb chops, phenomenal. Loads of parking, WiFi a bit hit and miss. So quiet 11/10
Never seen it before, but breakfast was self serve in the room. A cupboard held cereal, granola, bread, preserves and the fridge held butter, milk, orange juice and yoghurt. Unusual, but very convenient.
We just stayed for a night but the room was really nice, spacious and clean.
They pub provides breakfast which you can make in your room (cereal, muesli, toast etc) which worked for us.
Staff were really friendly and helpful, the pub itself is lovely and cosy on a cold winter's night.
Perfect location for my trip.
Everything was clean warm and tidy.
My only niggle was I thought I was getting a cooked breakfast but there is no cooked breakfast.
The breakfast is a continental breakfast cereal bread for toast etc.
But overall pleasant and would use again.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room very comfortable and exceptionally clean with comfortable bed.
Evening meal in busy bar with cosy fire was lovely. Breakfast was DIY in the room (no cooked option) but perfectly acceptable.
It was a pleasant stay and convenient for our needs. They allowed an early check in, which was really kind. The room was warm.and clean with added touches.
The breakfast was lovely and great to be able to have it at our convenience in the room.
I would definitely recommend The Anchor Inn. Thank you for a very plesant stay.
I need to say i had the best sleep i have slept in many hotels, guest houses and inns, ove the years. The sleep i had was amazing. Infact if i could have foldered the room up an put it in my packet i would have, my dinner was delicious and the staff incredibly helpful. Thank you all for a great night sleep.
This place is fantastic, my fourth visit this year. First class food with lovely clean rooms and bathroom with wonderful fluffy towels. All the time looked after by happy smiling friendly people. Well done everyone.
