Bye Mills Farm is in the idyllic Chew Valley. Recently refurbished, the Long Room offers the best contemporary comforts in a charming 17C beamed room with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. A perfect rural retreat on the banks of the River Chew in a stunning location with beautiful walks in all directions and ideally located for exploring Bristol, Bath and Wells. Relax in your private hot tub and garden, sit by the river or take in the fantastic views along the valley and to the Pensford Viaduct.
The Long Room is the oldest part of Grade II Listed Bye Mills Farm, there has been a dwelling here since 1604 and this part may well date from some time in the 1600's. The very low door and low windows are typical of this time. We believe that this may have been the dwelling space over the cider room and kitchen below.
Bye Mills is no longer a farm but is surrounded by farmland.
The old fashioned garden of Bye Mills is visited by a large variety of wildlife; owls, kingfishers, woodpeckers, buzzards and kestrels; badgers, deer, hare and maybe or maybe not an otter. With a large vegetable garden, many fruit trees and several chickens there is often some seasonal produce available at Bye Mills.
Room Features;
Comfortable kingsize bed with all seasons duvet and extra throws. Double sofa and smart TV Kitchenette with combo microwave oven and fridge with ice box. Complimentary tea, coffee, and selection of local goodies depending on the season. Ensuite bathroom with shower, towels and bathrobes. Hot tub with flip flops to borrow. Bye Mills is family home, the Long Room has a separate entrance and hopefully you will enjoy your stay without realising we are around. But, we do have two secondary school children and whilst we will avoid being unduly noisy you should expect sometimes to hear us outside.
