"Was the lovely ground floor area of a larger chalet, with the owners living upstairs. The chalet is located near the top of a small village on a winding country lane, so be aware, if you are coming in the winter you may find this challenging to get up! But it was beautifully peaceful and at the start of a walk either down to get a lovely glimpse of Lake Annecy or up (which we didn't try) towards the rough peak standing above you. "A big thank you to our hosts, the cottage was lovely, well equipped, comfortable and very clean. The area was beautiful with amazing scenery. We especially enjoyed the views from the Dent du chat, the boat trip from Chanaz and a soothing afternoon spent at the thermal baths in Aix les Bains... Five days wasn't enough!"

"We enjoyed our stay at the lakefront cabin. The house is well equipped with modern amenities. We appreciated the charming decor, dock for swimming and bistro table with incredible Views. We enjoyed walking to the boulangerie for croissants every morning. The traffic noise was off putting but otherwise an excellent place to stay."

"Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Frédérique et Jacques. Un logement très propre, bien équipé et décoré avec goût. Il est bien situé, nous avons pu profiter des différents paysages de la région : lac du Bourget, lac d'Annecy, différentes gorges, cascades et points de vue à couper le souffle. Si nous avons l'occasion de revenir dans cette belle région, nous y reviendrons sans hésiter ! 😉"

"We had two really excellent weeks at the apartment in the house in St Martin de Bavel. Although we enjoyed some agreeably quiet relaxing times in the garden looking out into the dramatic vista of Grand Colombier with a cold glass of local wine, we spent most of our time out and about. The surrounding countryside is dramatic, the ViaRhona cycle route is unchallenging (unless you do it as we chose to in 37° heat in which case it was extremely challenging) and there are many large and small towns...

"Good location near train station, easy walk to old town. Mini-kitchen very helpful (esp. microwave fridge). WiFi was very weak (~3.5mps) -- we ended up using tourist data SIM chip on cell instead. Room slightly warm (~24.5C)... not certain if the room has decent AC or not (might simply have been switched off for the season)...could easily open windows with slight but not terrible train noise. Friendly staff."
