It was close to the Dockside ferry terminal which takes you into the CBD or to Felons Brewery. I was lucky to get a room that I could see the CBD from, meaning I could see the fireworks. Any rooms that are like 601, 701 etc are in the best side of the building for fireworks but are also on the same side as the main roads

My wife and I have stayed at The Point around 8 times now and it’s always consistently good. Great rooftop bar, Great restaurant, great staff and comfortable and clean rooms. The story bridge pub is only a 10 minute walk. If you like dumplings try fusion dumplings just across the road from the pub.

The staff was nice and helpful. The room was really outdated and limited storage arrangement as the sliding mirrors blocked how to put a suitcase in the closet. Sewer smell in the bathroom. They did have a nice balcony view. Said they had shuttle service during the week if you arranged prior, but that was just for the elderly that had trouble with the hills or to go to the dock. Limited dinner options. If you don’t have current business in the area then I would opt to stay somewhere else.

On arrival we checked in and rushed up to the rooftop bar for an amazing view of Brisbane at night. We had been informed of this spot through emails after we had booked our stay. We enjoyed a lovely dinner up there too. The rooms were big with two balconies. The bathroom was large and the shower hot and strong. We also enjoyed the huge buffet breakfast with many interesting, fresh options. Parking was underground.

Aircon in the rooms was so loud on lowest setting it couldn’t be on at nighttime, it was like having a plane take off in the room. Windows appear to only be single glazed which means you hear all the road noise, all night. The area is convenient and staff are lovely, but the property is itself is in a poor state.

The Point is a very good hotel with dining options and very good room service. A two minute walk to the free ferry service that operates on the Brisbane River and allows you access to other parts of Brisbane.
