About the accommodation
If the old walls of the "Eremo del Rico" could speak, they would tell of pleasant breezes, many hours of sunshine and cosy moments by the fire. And of animals seeking shelter. The rustico was originally built as a stable in 1713. Two hundred years later, the owners lovingly transformed it into an energising retreat to escape the shimmering lake promenades. There is always a cooling breeze up here. Time seems to stand still in other ways too. On the deckchairs in the garden, from which you can see across Lake Maggiore as far as Italy. Anyone arriving from the city in the morning and preparing their polenta over the open fire in the house in the evening knows what it feels like to travel back in time.

The surrounding garden is also a paradise for children to run around and hide. But watch out if you're not a real mountain goat, because behind the fence there's a steep downhill slope.

Room layout
On the ground floor of the house there is an open-plan kitchen with a fireplace and a large dining area. On the upper floor there is a larger bedroom with a double bed and a smaller room with bunk beds.

Location and connections
Peace and tranquillity come at a price: to get to the "Eremo del Rico" you will need a car and will have to walk the last 5 minutes from the car park. The rustico is set in large grounds. Apart from a neighbouring house, you are completely alone up here. Val Resa lies on the south-east slope of the Cardada. Wonderful hiking trails start directly behind the house.

Excursion possibilities: Activities and experiences
- Cool off over a romantic dinner on the stone benches of the "Grotto al Ritrovo dai Fusetti".
- Take a dip in the bathing lagoon in front of one of the nearby waterfalls.
- Walk to the Madonna del Sasso pilgrimage church and take the historic funicular railway to Locarno.
- Relive the scene of the incredible bungee jump from "Goldeneye" at the Verzasca dam.
- Indulge in sweet idleness - on the deckchairs in the garden in front of the house.
