"Stayed just for 1 night which was too little time! My wife said it’s very charming and “homey” (I agree), and the host was very nice and friendly. Breakfast included home made bread, crepes fresh jam and cheese. Just remember that it’s a very old building with no elevator filled with quirks and the washroom is a little small but it adds to the place’s wonder. Definitely would stay again!"

"We loved our stay at Effect Lodge. Our room overlooked the back side of the property, including the pool. Great views and an open feel in our large room. The host was so gracious and helpful. She recommended public transportation for our visit to Old Lyon, and it worked out perfectly. She also provided direction in getting our laundry taken care of. In many ways, staying at Effect felt like being at home. Highly recommend this property!"

The gates were what I can only describe as something you would see at a 'haunted' house in really poor condition. "Chateau Saint Trys is magnificent and unique. Simply extraordinary in every respect, including a remarkable 400-year history. Beautifully manicured grounds with excellent views. Madame de Brosses is a remarkably gracious and friendly hostess, who looked after every detail and was helpful at every turn, including making restaurant recommendations and reservations.
